4 hours earlier.....
as navin slipped into his room...
he saw his best Friend dropping off to sleep in his armchair..
surrounded by a sea of documents!
"bahut ho gaya raj!!
its been 3 weeks...& i still see you immersed in dose stupid files..."
navin yelled at him...waking him...
"god !!...wat d hell did u shout for??!!
stupid files!!....main teri tarah vellah nahi hoon navin...
u may be enjoyin yourself..but i've got to submit dis report to B.C....
.&...i'm chasing a deadline!..."...
he once again immersed himself in his work..
a little reluctanty of course...
"dekh dost...yaar...
pichle 3 hafte se main raat ko theek se soya nahi hoon...
u'r always working!!...round d clock raj!...
u deserve a break!"...he sighed
"go talk to your uncle if you've got problems wid sharing dis room!"
"u know dat's not what i...oooooh!!....uth!!..get up!"
exasperated...
navin dragged raj out of his chair...
"navin!...stop it yaar!!.."
"i know u'r a workaholic....but still...
we're going for a drink tonight...chal!"
he pulled raj along...

raj resigned...knowing dat once navin made up his mind...

as dey stepped out of the academy (located in delhi)....
the chilly night air hit dem on their faces....
"do we really have to go....??"
raj made a face wen navin answered in d affirmative...
as soon as dey had seated themselves in raj's jeep..
navin's phone rang...
"hi uncle..."
"captain ahluwalia!!...its sir for you till lights out remember...!"
a strict b.c. shouted in navin's ear...
dey talked for awhile...
"kya hai??..y d hell r u smiling??"
"kuch nahin!....B.C se baat karke teri fat ti hai...
u'r expression was hilarious...
...anyway...stop giving me dat murderous look..bol kya hua?"
"he wants 2 meet me abhi....i'll hv to go..."
"thank god!!..chal!"
"aye...hello??...main jaa raha hoon..aur tu jaayega bar!!"
after a brief argument raj agreed & navin explained him d route...
"aaraam se aana...i'll handle it here...bye"

as d young, charming captain drove...
he was surprised..
surprised as to how after so many years he was reminded of
his childhood days.....
22 years back....
"Nia...raj...nanoo...andar chalo!!..
it's bout to rain!"
nia's mom... shouted....& the three 6 year old kids ran inside....
all muddy...smelly...wid a smile on their faces..
18 years back...
"bahut ho gaya...stop teasing her...
tum dono ko aur koi kaam nahi hai...
go out & play!!"...& raj's mom pushed him & nanoo out into d garden...
dey were pulling her hair...snatching her story books..
tearing it to pieces...while she wailed
16 years back...
"cheeeee!!...yeh kya ladkiyon jaisi dress pehni hai!"
raj made a face at nia...
"stupid!!...ladki hi to hoon..."
"den go play wid girls...humaare peeche kyon padi hai.."
nanoo shouted...
something dat made nia burst into tears...
& raj..& nanoo..grinned....happy to have made her terrible yet again...!
13 years back...
"mrs.shekhawat...aaj khaana bahut hi badiya bana hai..."
"thank you so much...
aap bataiye...nia..nanoo ki padaai kaisi chal rahi hai?"
"nia to exceptionally dedicated hai....
par nanoo....nanoo aur raj ko masti se fursat mile to padenge na...!"
"oh come on mom!!..we're 15!...
padna ladkiyon ka kaam hota hai.."
"yup!!..we're going...cycling..& den cricket..."
the two rushed away...
11 years back..
"aapki flight kitne baje ki hai?"
"bas another 4 hours...r u sure about nanoo??"
"aap kyon tension le rahi hai...?
u know we're much more dan neighbours...or family friends!
main to kehti hoon nia ko bhi yahin chod do...
she'll do her studies from here..."
"nahi...nanoo aur raj ki baat alag hai....
nia london mein humaare saath hi theek hai...
waise bhi raj aur nanoo ne to army join karni hai...
naina still has to decide her future..."
everything was packed....
nanoo was to live wid raj for d coming 1-2 years...
the twins hugged each other tightly....
they were currently in 11th...
"i'll miss u sis..."
"i'll miss u too bhaai..."
raj remained still...not knowing how to bid her a good-bye...
they'd grown-up together...fought,played,teased...
yet...today everything seemed awkward...distant...
as dey were bout 2 leave...
raj ran out & called nia..
"u forgot something inside..."he shouted...
"nia..hurry up!..we're already gettin late...
jaldi se aana.." her father told her...
the parents hugged each other...
"jaldi waapis aana...india jaisa kuch nahi hai..."
"dekhiye...ab to nanoo ke soldier banne ke baad hi aayenge"
"mom!!...kam se kam jaate-jaate to nanoo mat bolo...
i'm old enough for dat name....!"
everyone laughed their heads off as his parents hugged him....
"atleast ab thoda serious ho jaana....
its not easy to be a soldier!.." his father twisted his ear...
"uncle hain na!!"
& dey shook their head...
little did he know ki uske uncle is maamle mein kitne strict hai...

as nia hurried back in d room...
"wat??...kya reh gaya?"
raj closed d door...
turned her round & kissed her lightly on d cheek...
"yeh!......stay in touch nia...i'll miss you"
"so....will...i..."
she blushed...& he smiled...
now 11 years later...he still went pink thinking about her...
about his first kiss...dat face entered his dreams frequently..
even today...but he didn't undestand why...
he was shaken out of his reverie...
"nia...raj...nanoo...
we were called NRN in one breath by so many people..
simply coz we were inseparable...
nanoo ..navin...to yahin hai...par tum...tum kahaan ho naina...?
do dey still call u nia??" he smiled at d thought
he sighed pleasantly stunned by d turn of his thoughts...
there were so many other beautiful memories...
but dey had begun to fade...
"aah...finally!"
he parked his car...& entered a bar cum disc...filled wid boisterous people...
"i'll have gin please..." he ordered...
it was den ...as he was taking his first sip...
dat his eyes fell on her.......
a bar-girl..
& he was lost..taken in by her beauty...!
