The buzz doing the rounds is that Rajeev's character, Captain Rajvir of Left Right Left, will die soon. This will be the second time that Rajeev is planning to leave a show when his character is at its peak. Previously Rajeev left Kahiin Toh Hoga at the height of his character, Sujal's, popularity.
Rajeev says: "I don't know but I've always felt that it is better to leave a show when your character is popular and when it is at its peak rather than continuing with it with for seven years! After a long time, people tend to forget your character as with any other daily show. The character should be shelved while it is popular. Endlessly dragging it on is of no use. If this happens then the character vanishes in no time."
Rajeev confirms that his track is going to end soon but he has no clue as to how Captain Rajvir will exit the show. He says, "I am shooting for Left Right Left now but my track is getting over very soon. I don't know how it is going to end. By the first week of July my track will get over. I am sure it will end intelligently and interestingly. The scriptwriters are working on my track now."
Persis, the executive producer of the show says: "We have not finalized how Rajeev's character will end. We are working on the story and his track. We will have meeting with Deeya, Tony, the writers and with the channel about it the next week."
Rajeev will leave behind many fond memories when he leaves Left Right Left:
"I am definitely going to miss the show. So far I have missed all my shows. The makers of every show I have worked with are close to me. Everyday I receive tons of mails from my fans asking me why I am leaving. They say that they want to see me on television."
Does the actor ever regret quitting a serial at the peak of his career there?
"I have not regretted anything I have done so far. I learn everything from what I do and what I have done so far. I am not Aamir Khan or Shah Rukh Khan. They have also learnt things in their own way. Likewise I am learning things in my own way. I want to survive in this industry. I am here to entertain people and of course to make money."
Rajeev will take things as they come after he's done with Left Right Left
"I have not signed anything. I am keen to work with Deeya and Tony but I have not signed any film with them. You might see me playing lawn tennis or in my gym in Goregaon. Or you may see me at the airport going abroad. Though that will happen when I finish visiting places I want to see in India. Whenever I go abroad and meet with Hindi speaking people I feel proud."
Presently, on Left Right Left, Cadet Naina is trying to find out the real reason behind her brother's death. Captain Rajvir killed Naina's brother, Navin, on his own request. The report of his death and the reason as to why Navin told Rajvir to kill him is hidden in a red box with Captain Rajvir.
