as far as lrl is concerned - the three characters raj, naveen and naina though alike in some qualities are totally different in facing a difficult situation. of all the three i would rate naina as the most strongest and determined .
navin was a brave man and loyal to his country - but he could not stand the physical and mental torture and lost all his will power and hope that he just preferred death. he even did not trust raj and never gave raj a chance to help him out!
as for raj - i think what he did was wrong. though his character is shown to be strong and intelligent he is emotionally a very weak character. he just didn't have the courage to stand up for his friend. not did he have the courage of telling the truth to naina for the fear of losing her. he keeps telling naina not to give up hope why did he give up hope and kill his best friend?
naina-full marks for her determination. her brother meant the world to her and she is ready to fight with the whole world for her brother. nothing nothing has stopped her from giving up. she has be put under trial, insulted in front of faculty and friends, and her own mentor but she came out strong b'coz she has always followed her conscience which is crystal clear. naina would have never killed naveen had she been in raj's place - in fact she would never have killed anyone else in the same situation. she would rather die herself protecting them!
naveen died thru mercy killing. but was his situation that bad? mercy killing should be done only if the person is undergoing so much physical torture and suffering, unable to live, eat or die and where death is the only soln.
naveen had already escaped. raj tried to help him. both r intelligent officers. keeping naveen underground raj could have easily gathered evidence and saved him. c'mon if he can fool an intelligent spy like ritu why couldn't he and naveen use their brains then? i wonder how they came to be selected as officers of military intelligence if they themselves can't get out of a tight situation?
i thing the girls have come out stronger in lrl. first and foremost naina and secondly ritu. they just don't seem to give up!
