We have enjoyed LRL for the Past 6 months and thanks to God, It has been doing reasonably well and has managed to keep our interests!
As in any Cricket match after a batsman has completed a century, The TV ppl show the highlights... So here are highlights for LRL's journey until now...
1: Staff and Students...
In this part we get the introduction of all the cadets and faculty of KMA.
The cadets:
1. Ali Baig(aka Usool bhai) – Determined to become an officer in the army to fulfil his parents' dreams. His father and grandfather have been in the army and he is immensely patriotic
2. Yaduvansh Sahni (aka Yudi, Yudiye)- Son of the supplies contractor for KMA. his parents dreamt of him studying abroad but Yudi wanted to prove himself on his own and not because of his dad so he comes to KMA
3. Naina Singh(aka phoolan) – Strong, independent and in KMA on a mission to prove her brother Navin Singh Ahluwalia innocent. She has to hide her true identity to do this and becomes Naina Singh from Naina Singh Ahluwalia
4. Alekh Sharma(aka qaidi, khooni, sharabi)- A juvenile delinquent, an alcoholic and in KMA for rehabilitation. Alekh has had a traumatic past.
5. Pooja Ghai(aka mobile ki dukan, punjaban)- A hockey player who's in KMA on sports quota. KMA is just a ruse to come to Ambala. What she actually wanted to do was to look for her lover Rohit who abandoned her. She becomes famous as "mobile ki dukan"
6. Amardeep Huda(aka Huda) – A flirtatious and intriguing character who flirts with all the pretty ladies including his own teachers.
The staff
Brigadier Chandok (aka BC) : The principal of KMA and a strict disciplinarian. he is very concerned not to have traitors like Navin Singh Ahluwalia in the academy again.
Major Nair( aka MC): the vice principal of KMA and even stricter than BC. He strongly believes that women can never be soldiers
Dr. Captain Shalini Singhal: The KMA doc. She is a bubbly, cheerful and sweet doc who loves playing pranks.
Captain Rajveer Singh Shekhawat: A cool, handsome captain on a special mission in KMA. He believes KMA has a spy cadet and has come to find him out. His cover is that he is writing a report on the teaching methods of the academy for the military board
Subedar Surinder Suri: Mess Incharge and warden of Boys hostel. Suriji is fair to all his cadets and in love with the girls hostel warden Subedar Lolita sen
Subedar Lolita Sen: Warden of girls hostel. A strict lady.
Dr. Ritu Mishra: A sexy Psychiatrist. A great combo of beauty and brains and the girl who can make captain Rajveer blush.
2. Settling in and Ragging
The cadets are settling in their rooms and making their first impressions about other cadets. Ali is shocked to find that his roomie Alekh is an alcoholic and also an ex convict. Huda enters girls' hostel by mistake and enter Naina's room. They have a minor scuffle and Huda calls her Phoolan. Later Huda gets punished for entering Naina's room. Naina is branded as a "Khabri" . The two start off on a sour note. The seniors rag their juniors. Ali cant see Pooja being ragged and gets beaten up. Alekh comes to his rescue and beats up the seniors viciously resulting in a punishment of solitary confinement for a week. Huda owns up to BC saying he was responsible for the whole thing and to free Alekh. Alekh is free but he doesn't trust Huda.
3. The first Drill and Naina's Punishment
Major Nair takes a trust drill. Naina is paired with Huda but gets irritated by him, leaves midway and gets the punishment of hanging upside down from a tree. Captain Rajveer rescues her from the tree and carries her to her room when she becomes unconscious.
4. Rajveer suspects Naina
Rajveer gets the suspicion that Naina is hiding something. He thinks she might be a spy. She has asked her parents not to call the academy and he has also found her sneaking about after lights out signal. H
5. Rifle drill and Yudi's party
Nair takes the rifle drill. Raj shows cadets how to shoot. Naina and Pooja get a rusted rifle. While Pooja accepts bonus points without shooting, Naina tries to shoot and gets hurt during recoil. Yudi organizes a party outside KMA at the insistence of seniors after they find out that his dad is the local contracter. Naina does not go. The seniors are having a gala time after mixing alcohol in Pooja's drink. Ali is disturbed by this. Pooja and Ali sneak out to look for Rohit. The cadets get into trouble with a goon Chika after Huda loses an arm wresling match. Huda goes back to KMA to get money only to find the entrance guarded. Rajveer finds Naina sneaking about in his room and insists that he tells him where the cadets went. Naina escapes from his clutches and wants to ring the deserter's bell saying she's rather leave the academy than betray her friends.
Meanwhile Alekh wins from Chika but the goon does not want to accept defeat. He gets beaten up by captain Rajveer. Back in KMA, tha cadets come to find out how Naina does not reveal their location.She becomes a heroine.
6. Rajveer Discovers Naina's secret.
With the aid of Lt. Bunty Chaubey, Rajveer finds out Naina's real address. Rajveer goes to Naina's house and discovers that she is Navin singh Ahluwalia's (a traitor)sister. Navin was Rajveer's batchmate. Naina is nervous that Rajveer is going to tell this to BC and fails Dr.Ritu's test out of nervousness.
7. Independence Day
Naina volunteers to take charge of the Independence day celebrations and delegates the work efficiently. Rajveer convinces Naina that her secret was safe with him if she managed to prove herself in the remaining tests. Huda and Naina become friends. A Mr X warns Rajveer to go away and then hides a bomb . Raj saves ritu in the nick of time as she is about to hoist the flag. A small explosion occurs and the cadets panic. Order is restored and they decide to continue the celebrations. All including BC enjoy a game of Antakshri.
8.Scavenger Hunt
For Suriji's test a scavenger hunt is organized. Naina, Pooja and Huda are in a team. They are leading but Nair cheats and hides their rifle. They manage to get the rifle but Huda is hurt. The two support Huda and manage to finish in the nick of time. The trio expect to top but Nair has other plans. He says that they did not use their time efficiently and gives them the least marks.
9. Temperature Torture
In the last test by Dr. Shailini, cadets are made to endure freezing temperatures. All except Naina back out. Naina creates history by surviving the ordeal for 10 minutes.
10 Naina is expelled
Naina and ud have the lowest grades and are in danger of being expelled. Rajveer tries to convince BC to give a 2nd chance. The rest of the Staff is with Rajveer. However Naina gets expelled. Yudi is saved by grace marks and Hugs Dr. Shalini. Cadets and some staff are rebellious at this unfair decision. Captain Rajveer motivates the cadets to fight against this injustice but Naina secretly leaves KMA. Huda follows to bring her back.
11. The terrorist attack and Naina comes back
Terrorists hijack Naina's bus. Huda is injured but he punctures bus tyre. Rajveer and Alekh set out to find the two. Alekh carries huda back. Rajveer goes for Naina. Naina shoots terrorists and saves Captain Rajveer's life. BC takes her back into KMA. Everyone is overjoyed when she returns but she is concerned about Huda. Huda plays a prank on Naina and pretends to be dead. Alekh, Yudi and Dr. Shalini manage to get it out from her that if Huda was alive she'd go to the fresher's ball with him. ThenHuda wakes up and surprises Naina. But she says that she would dance with him only if he could make Alekh dance.
12. Fresher's ball
KMA is in jubiliation mode as Fresher's ball is celebrated. Ali and Pooja have a fight and are not going together. Naina goes with Huda. Alekh goes with Yudi who dresses like a girl and calls himself Madonna as neither of them found a date. Capt. Rajveer and Dr. Ritu score the highest points as a couple. Rajveer dances to "gori gori " song. Naina and Alekh win the title of Miss and Mr Fresher respectively. Yudi's sis Neelu makes Alekh dance and Huda wins his bet. Huda and Naina dance on the song "Jhalak Dikhlaja…"
Pooja has a miserable time with her replacemnt date Kamran and he tries to misbehave with her. Ali saves her and they both dance to a slow song until Ali reminds Pooja of Rohit. She gets confused and walks away. Madonna tells Naina that Huda had made her pregnant. Naina slaps Huda.
13. The Spy revealed
The face of the spy is revealed as he comes near the deserters bell and this is captured on a secret camera placed by Rajveer. The spy is none other than Huda!
14. Love is in the air
Ali and Pooja are back together. Huda realises he loves Naina. Alekh finds his match in yudi's sis Neelu. Naina breaks down when Nair asks her to shoot the dummy terrorist. Rajveer helps her recover emotionally
15 Madonna Unmasked.
In an effort to teach Huda a lesson yudi dressed as Madonna gives Naina a letter about how she has left Huda's son in an orphanage. Naina drags Madonna to the Boys hostel and talks to Huda about this. Huda says he's ready to accept Madonna but Yudi runs for his life and Hides in Dr. Shalini's cabin. Later he comes out and confesses the truth. Shalini scolds Huda and Alekh for their demeaning behaviour towards Yudi. Huda and Yudi make up and Yudi apologizes to Naina.
16 Rajveer Goes missing
The spy Tampers with Rajveer's Jeep brakes. Rajveer has an accident and goes missing. All are upset thinking he is dead. Bunty reveals Capt.'s location to Naina in a code. She tells BC that Bunty told her that Rajveer is alive and BC asks Nair to hold a rescue mission.
17 The rescue mission
BCorders Nair to rescue Rajveer. Huda flatters Nair and asks to come along. Naina too wants to come but Nair disagrees. She sets out on her own. Other 4 cadets, Alekh, Ali, Pooja and Yudi are punished for helping her escape. They stand in sewage water. Meanwhile BC tells Nair abt Naina escaping from KMA and they chase her. Alekh escapes from the sewage water to go and help Naina. He helps Naina by leaving opposing tracks but Naina gets caught by Nair and Huda. After getting rid of Nair, Huda tries to misguide Naina but she succeeds in reaching captain. She fights with the terrorists who have kidnapped him and manages to rouse him before collapsing herself. Huda carries Naina in his arms all the way back and he too collapses.
18. Rajveer catches the spy.
Rajveer manages to overpower the terrorists and send out his location. He is rescued by Bunty and treated in the hospital. Raj tries to question the terrorist but to no avail. The image from the secret camera is revealed. Rajveer discovers that Huda is the spy. Huda accuses Rajveer of being the traitor claiming he(Huda) worked for the Indian intelligence but Rajveer shows him the reality. Huda is very remorseful after that.
19 Diwali with a Difference
Naina's dad suffers a heart attack and she leaves in a hurry after telling Dr. Shalini. The other cadets celebrate Diwali in Yudi's house. Huda saves Raj from fire. The celebrations are put on hold as KMA is turned into a makeshift medical facility for army patients. Huda uses a desi remedy on a major Pandey and succeeds in saving his life. Huda becomes a hero!
20. Ali in trouble
Huda gives Ali and Alekh tickets for a cricket match in Mohali. They escape KMA to go the match but find themselves on TV. BC sees them and calls Ali's parents. Ali's dad is disappointed with his son. Ali resolves never to sway again from his path.
21. Bringing Naina back to KMA
Huda finds Naina is not coming back to KMA and tells others. Rajveer, Huda, Alekh, yudi and pooja make a plan to bring Naina back. Shalini lends support to the mission. Huda Pretends to be Naina's groom from USA. The plan fails as Yudi blurts out the truth. Naina's father realizes she'll be happiest in KMA and sends her back.
22. Major bhargav exposes Naina
A new Major called Bhargav arrives in KMA for inspection and finds cadets partying late at night. He is very strict with the cadets and makes them jog with bikes until sunrise. Only Ali manages to do this. He reveals Naina's secret that she is Navin's sister.
23. Naina's trials and tribulations
Naina sees mixed reactions from other KMA cadets and faculty. Some stand by her while others think she is also a traitor. She undergoes Psycho-analysis test and Rajveer is pained by this.
24. Naina's hearing
Naina's fate is to be decided whether she will continue to stay in KMA or be sent to a military correction centre. Bhargav proves cunning in Naina's hearing but is outsmarted by captain Rajveer who says that a person with Naina's integrity and determination would be an asset to the army.
25. Navin's truth revealed
Captain Rajveer tells Naina the circmustances behind allegations of Navin being a traitor and how he died. Navin was framed of stealing the nuclear triggers he was supposed to protect and was court martialed and proclaimed traitor. He was made to escape during deportation under Rajveer's charge. Then Navin shot himself with Rajveer's gun. Naina and Rajveer break down with this story and find consolation in each other's arms. 😳
26. Mentorship program
Major Bhargav introduces a mentorship program in which each of the 6 cadets is assigned a mentor. the pairs are Huda- Shalini, Alekh- Bhargav, Ali- Lolita, Rajveer-Naina, Nair- Pooja and Yudi - yoga teacher Simran. Bhargav organises a trust drill for mentors and protgs. Huda is upset at Naina and Rajveer's closeness. Pooja finds Navin's photos in Nair's room but doesn't see it. Bhargav is scheming to get Naina and rajveer thrown out of KMA
27 Camping trip
A 36 hr camping trip is announced and the cadets live in tents with their mentors and have just one blanket to face the cold. They try to make ends meet build trust in each other. Meanwhile Bhargav has planted a letter in Naina's room. Ritu proposes to Rajveer but he says that he does not love Ritu. Ritu and Alekh are chosen for "Dangerous exercise". Bhargav plays the game od divide and rule and creates differences between the cadets. They go for a route march but all pairs except RN are called back to KMA thx to Bhargav's strategy.
28 Damaged relationships
Bhargavs divide and rule strategy worked as the cadets are now divided into 2 groups Alekh, Naina and Yudi on one side and Huda, Pooja Ali on the other. All roommates get interchanged. While Naina claims Raj is just a teacher, others claim that they are having an affair. Raj is punished for negligence of duty by solitary confinement for a day and he confesses his love for Naina to himself. He is very guilty and tries to create distance between himself and Naina. Naina gets hurt in the process.
