- The Times of India upholds the one-man-one-vote principle of democratic elections.
- You are therefore, entitled to only one vote.
- You can vote as many times as you like, for as many candidates as you like; only your last vote will be counted.
- You have to register before you can vote.
- Because you can also vote by SMS, you will be asked for your mobile number. This is for us to analyse voting patterns between SMS and Web votes so as to eliminate duplicate votes.
- Your mobile number will be treated as confidential and deleted soon after our tallying of data sheets after voting. Under no circumstances will your mobile number be used either by The Times of India or any other party for any commercial or other use.
- Voting is open to all Indian residents or foreign nationals holding a valid Indian passport.
- The final selection of the candidates will be on the basis of both public voting and the jury.
- The Times of India reserves the right to modify, cancel, discontinue or terminate the Lead India Programme at any time or to accept or reject any or all registrations at their absolute discretion without giving any prior notice and without assigning any reason whatsoever.
