Trisha asks Amrita to dress up as a bride for Prateek on their marriage anniversary. Aditya & Trisha go along with them to the resort, to show them their room, which they both had selected. Aditya gifts them a bottle of champagne. Prateek feels grateful & tells Amrita & Trisha that he loves them both a lot. Aditya takes their pictures as they hug. Prateek & Amrita cut the cake & Aditya and Trisha celebrate along. Before Trisha leaves, Prateek blesses her to stay happy always. Trisha and Aditya leave.
The next morning, Amrita wakes up to find Prateek staring at her. She asks him to say something & pushes him away. Prateek lifelessly rolls over & Amrita discovers blood stains on his blanket. She removes the blanket & finds a knife lodged in his chest. Prateek is dead.
She calls Kabir but is unable to say anything. Kabir gets to know from the hotel staff that Prateek is dead. He reports this to the commissioner.
At the Swaika house, Gaurav tells the bad news to Trisha.
The investigating officers search the resort room for clues but they are unable to find anything crucial. Kabir looks at Amrita sitting next to Prateek's body. He calls her name but she doesn't respond. Kadam tells Kabir that CCTV footage shows no suspicious activity as Trisha & Aditya were the last visitors in the room.
At the Grewal house, Lavanya learns through Meghan that Prateek is dead. She is shocked. Meghan thinks it's Lavanya who killed him & she starts sympathizing with her & thanks Lavanya. Lavanya denies killing Prateek.
Trisha goes to the resort with the rest of the Swaika family. They all are shocked to see what has happened.
Before cremation, the body is kept at the Swaika house. Aditya supports Trisha & asks her to stay strong for Amrita.
Kabir reports to the commissioner that he's found no clues so far. The commissioner asks Kabir to talk to Amrita so that she reveals something that may help them.
Lavanya & Meghan arrive at the Swaika house. Kushan is brought in as well (handcuffed & accompanied by hospital assistants). He approaches Prateek's dead body & checks to see if he's breathing. He starts laughing & dancing when he realizes Prateek is dead. The hospital staff takes him away.
Aditya tells Kabir that Amrita is in a state of shock & needs to go to the hospital to get evaluated for mental trauma.
Varsha is discharged from the hospital. Kabir calls her & enquires where she's at. Varsha doesn't tell him about Prateek's incident where a truck tried to hit him. She lies that she was involved in a minor accident but is fine now. Kabir tells her about Prateek's death. Varsha is shocked. Kabir calls her to the Swaika mansion to help Amrita. Varsha agrees.
Meghan asks Lavanya to accompany her back home as she's tired of pretending to be sad about her uncle's death. Lavanya asks her to be quiet & stay. Meghan says that Kushan needs her more than the Swaikas right now. Lavanya says that she can't leave as Kabir would suspect her if she left. Kabir overhears this & comes over to clarify that she won't be spared even if she stays. Meghan & Lavanya leave.
Varsha arrives & tries to talk to Amrita regarding Prateek's death. Amrita keeps staring at Prateek's body & doesn't respond.
Varsha talks to Trisha & asks her to prompt Amrita to speak. Trisha starts talking to Amrita. The men of the family take away Prateek's body for cremation. Amrita finally starts crying & tries to stop them.
During cremation, Gaurav decides to fulfill all the duties which a son is supposed to do. But Trisha stops him & says that Prateek considered her as his 'son' so she'll do it. She lights his pyre & she recalls all the good times she had spent with Prateek.
In the evening, Kabir goes to meet Lavanya & enquires where she was at when the murder took place. Lavanya replies she was at home & he can cross-check this from her staff or Meghan. Kabir tries to provoke her & asks why was she crying, when Prateek was her biggest enemy. Lavanya replies that it's an irony since he was also her younger brother. She excuses herself from his interrogation, saying she's in mourning.
Kabir calls Aditya to the police station & asks him about who all knew about this marriage anniversary planning except Trisha, Amrita & Prateek. Aditya says that it was his plan & he worked with Trisha but he didn't tell it to anyone else. He tells Kabir that in her excitement, Trisha had told this to everyone at home.
Back at the Swaika mansion, Trisha consoles Amrita & says that Prateek won't like it if she keeps on crying.
The next day, the ballistic report of the gun (which Lavanya tried to hide in jungle) arrives. Kabir says that it's not the same gun with which Trisha was shot. So, Lavanya can't be arrested. Kabir realizes he's arrived at another dead end (no pun intended).
Mr Malani (lawyer) visits the Grewal house to tell Lavanya about the ballistic report & how this will acquit her from the charges for which Kabir had earlier arrested her. Lavanya realizes that the unknown caller had lied to her, just to scare her.
The commissioner calls Kabir to his office & says that the entire police department is under great pressure as an eminent industrialist has been murdered & Kabir was assigned to work with Trisha's case but he's still not been able to solve it completely. He strictly warns Kabir that he can't protect & shield him again from the mounting pressure-from politicians & higher authorities. He tells him that this is his last chance to put this puzzle together, or else, he'll be forced to assign & some other officer will be recruited to work on this case. This will affect his career. When Kabir comes out of commissioner's office, the reporters surround him & ask how people would further lose their lives. Kabir doesn't answer to any of them & leaves.
At the mental asylum, Lavanya & Meghan look at Kushan inside his cell. He dances & rejoices Prateek's death & says that God killed Prateek for what he did and they both should celebrate too. Lavanya says that she's happy that he's responding well to the treatment. She tells him how she's being acquitted from the charges & how she won't go to jail.
When Lavanya & Meghan leave, Kushan stops dancing & jumping around & grins (looks like he's returned back to his normal state but is pretending to be insane).
Precap: Kabir assures Amrita that no one can harm Trisha till he's alive.
Trisha enquires from Kabir if he views her as her daughter.
Sonali calls the board members home & holds a meeting, to decide who'll be the next CEO of the Swaika Indistries. Lavanya is shocked.
Kabir visits the Swaika house & Lavanya taunts him, saying that he'll never be able to catch the murderer as he himself killed Prateek.
