Hey all, hope my post doesn't get deleted for writing this. But I read some place that nanda's daughter gitika is going to be raped in the serial by some police folks and it is apparently based on some true story.

I mean its going to be really bad for Nanda and her family in that case. Despite Gitika's chlidish behavior at times which is mostly due to peer pressure and her age, she is such a sweet girl and such a thing happening to her is so sad.

oh my gosh. I don't want to see that. It is terrible and very sad. I am trying to run away from the news of all horrible events of the day. I stopped watching news and started watching serials for entertainment. I for sure do not want to see that.😭

^Same here! I mean i totally hate to watch those sad scenes! Like in movies, there was once this movie called Hotel Rewanda, and it was about Genocide... and i was forced to watch it, so it started of aite... and when it went to the serious part, I just closed my eyes and my eyes, and i went all " lalalalalalalala" and the people around me were just staring at me =P

Don't worry sweety, your post won't be trashed.😊
If you take a look at the "About the Show and Characters" post, you can see the following;
Nanda's daughter Gitika left college early one day and was sitting with her friend Manu at Marine Drive. A policeman on duty took objection to them sitting together and brought them to the booth. He then asked for a big bribe to let them go. When Manu went to get the bribe he raped Gitika several times.
This one incident changes Nanda and Shivam Shinde's life forever. Everything that they worked and aspired for loses its meaning. Their lives are completely shattered.
Nanda now drops everything and vows to get justice for her daughter. A long dirty court case ensues and at some point Nanda realizes that she is not going to get justice from the system. The ever smiling Nanda now has a grim expression of determination ' her only goal is justice. When she can't get it from the system, he decides to avenge her daughter on her own. She purchases a weapon and kills the cop who raped her daughter in cold blood.

@nosh- I do that too whenever a rape scene or murder scene goes on. "Just walk away, walk away slowly from the TV..."😆 Whenever we watch horror movies, my friend brings a magazine with him. Whenever violent scenes go on, he "reads" the magazine.😆

OH NOOOO!
Nanda's life was the most normal of all the ladies! This will ruin everything!
I hope they dont follow that storyline! Real life cases are horrible enuf, I dont want to see all that in the show! 😭
Instead they could show Jassie trying to force himself on Geeti but the other boy rescues her so she realizes who is her true friend!

@Bolded part: yeah that would be a better way and then Nanda could get to know abt that n she could go to Jassie's home and fight w/ his parents teach jassie a lesson somehow ...I don't want to see extreme cases and hate seeing such terrifying stuff on tv shows......the street guys choedofying today wasn't enough kya? or were they trying to foreshadow that she will not get justice in future by showing that scene today where the policeman just asked her to avoid such ppl...😡

Wow! that's going to be a powerful track and one with meaning. I too hate to see such gruesome violence but I am happy that they are showing the reality of today's times. It is hard to get justice for a common man and rape still remains a big stigma in society. Many women do not even report rape for the fear of being ostracized from the society. Nanda's will and her strength to fight will hopefully inspire a few women or the least show them the option of legal fight as a possibility.
