She heard his distinct footsteps once again. They were approaching her slowly and steadily. She squeezed her eyes shut and firmly clutched the shawl to herself. The footsteps halted as he stood behind her. She could imagine him towering over her. Beads of sweat broke on her forehead.

" nakusha." He called her out.

She didn't respond.

" nakusha." This time he was louder.

She still didn't move. Was she such a sound sleeper? He crouched and tapped on her shoulder.

" HAAN." She shrieked and bolted upright. She was huffing and puffing. What the hell was this? Unless he misread her, she was terrified of him. But why?
