Dutta's den

Naku watches Baji leave.. then resolved within her own mind she turns to face Dutta's closed door, picks up her little trunk and ventures forth into his room.. their room.. indeed a big moment as she, the bride crosses the threshold of his room.. traditionally the groom's sisters bring their brother's bride into the bridal suite.. but here Naku enters herself.. more like a duty rather than a privilege to spend the rest of her life with him..

She looks around as one would do.. given the fact that she has been to this room many times before.. it looks more or less the same, files on the table, empty bottle on the floor , a slept in bed.. still there is some that the traces of the haunting marriage bridal night scene with semi darkness, snuffed out candles, flower and glass debris on the floor has now disappeared..

She looks at the bottle on the floor and the slept in bed.. which meant he drank and slept.. looks around and walks to a side unit with ornaments on it and parks her trunk beside the unit.. opens it, and takes out the gift her mother gave her Bappa's small idol.. gently she holds it in her hands and speaks to it.. I know, there is no space for me in Saab's room..but I will make my own space in Saab's heart and I'll begin this journey by worshipping you.. and she stands the idol on the base of red cloth. With joined hands , she prays and looks around, in this room of Saab's I'll use my love to wipe away all the sadness in his life... and in that Bappa! you will have to help me.. she prays.

Kishore stands in Dutta 's open door way and sees Naku worshiping .. and he smiles quietly from the door way , as Naku continues to prays, Bappa! if you're with me than I will forget all my pain..Kishore calls out Naku! and in the middle of worship she looks to the door, weary. Kishore's face breaks into a smile and he comments, so much has happened Naku , but it's great to see that you have not lost faith in Bapaa. Naku lowers her head, not sure that he being Kala's husband, was poking fun at her or being genuine..

Kishore smiles and assures her, I am saying this with a genuine heart, not taunting you..he walks in and stands before Naku , you don't need to be afraid of me.. in this house, no matter what people say , but my faith in god tells me that whatever happened, you were not involved in it, you've not done anything.. you are innocent! Naku listens to him her eyes full of tears, and she smiles relieved.

Kishore continues , you can't even dream of harming Bhau! you've always been his well- wisher!you been accused of so many things, but still you did what was best for Bhau! you know the whole family is against you! but not me.. he assures her... and he blesses her on the head and says, I am with you!..Naku is filled with moral encouragement. He removes his hand from her head , but I won't be able to admit this openly ,even if I wanted to , I cannot help you.. but it's true, I have complete faith in your truth. Kishore's has FB,s of him challenging Kala ..you did all this? what has this girl done to you?.. alerts him and he goes to check if anyone is about and closes the door, to Dutta's room for privacy between him and... Naku! he says, remember one thing, we only know half the truth! why this happened ?how it happened? who did it? he asks her. silently she is disturbed, and she has FB's Supriya asking for a drink, feeling dizzy, stopping at the coconut shop, then blast! body arriving home, Dutta saying it's not her body, Dutta asking her about the corpse,.. she recalls andKishore consoles her, I know you never carried out these conspiracies! you've always done good for Bhau! but in the end all the blame came on you! Naku has FB.. those men saying Nakusha called us there! Naku wonders now..and then turns to face Kishore .. Sahib, I have never sought bad for any one! I have no enmity with anyone , then why this with me? Kishore veers her to think , why did Supriya write your name in her letter?.. Naku has a FB, and replies, I caught Supriya red handed with Ravi , and brought her back, stopped her from eloping with Ravi, I was with her all the time..like a shadow! that's why she took revenge! Kishore wanted to hear Naku's understanding of her involvement in the conspiracy , it was obvious that Naku looks at only those facts where she was seen actively involved in by others.. thus failing to see the undercurrents of the Supriya conspiracy case.

Kishore shakes his head, well this is not the complete truth! the truth is.. and Naku turns her head to listen and Kishore.. midway suddenly stops.. has a FB, Anay being lowered by Kala from the balcony ..and Kishore swearing to remain silent..and he laughs nervously and says, now what is the whole truth? only god alone knows! but this sure is true that a cruel and evil person always loses in the end! and the truthful and honest person always wins! that's why have faith in yourself! a wife's love has immense strength.. and Naku smiles at his empowering words and she folds her hands before him , and he grabs her arms , no! never fold your hands before any body , if you must fold your hands then do so before god! who has given you the chance to prove your innocence! maybe that's why you were destined to marry Dutta Bhau.. so that you could prove your innocence.. and you watch if not today , then one day Dutta Bhau will begin to trust you! and after that day.. Dutta Bhau 's life will be changed forever! think of this wedding as a blessing in disguise given to you by the gods! Naku is overcome by his wise words of empowerment and he smiles and says.. I'll leave now and he leaves.. would it be right to think that in this point in time, Kishore has been sent as a guardian to Naku by Bappa? Naku now gives thanks to Bappa and then walks over to his dresser , looks at her bridal reflection, and recalls how he puts on the magalsutra, and the vermillion, and his words this mangalsutra is a noose around your neck! she feels it with her fingers and says Saab ,one day I'll prove that this marriage is not a sham.. turn this noose into a mangulsutra .. so now Naku transforms from the bride into a simple plain wife appearance..

Now comes before the mirror a Naku dressed in a simple cotton fuchsia shalwar kameez.. have to say it was a delight to see her like this.. she comes before the mirror in her new look..her mangalsutra bold and clear.. she looks down at the little pot of sindoor, and picks it up , studies it then lifts the lid..FB , of how he smears it roughly with his fist on the top of her head.. she now takes a pinch full and graces it in the parting of her hair and looks at herself in quiet bliss, covers the pot and puts it back..she has confirmed herself to be his wife, by this act...

Naku looks at herself and praises him , Saab you are like a god..I am not worthy of you, you are the sun that lightens up the darkness in people's lives..

she moves from the mirror and then does the simple chores of tidying up , that a wife does.. she collects his files.. and carries on speaking.. and what am I ? a cause of darkness in every one's life.. unknowingly I have brought sadness in your life too..I know that physical looks don't matter to you Saab in the least bit ..like others you never made fun of my appearance.. she walks to put his files in his wardrobe.. and closes his cupboard; then walks to the floor to pick the bottle of liquor on the floor.. she screws the cap back on it..and kneels on the floor with the bottle on her knee, and carries on speaking.. but now, I am your wife Saab , whether you accept this or not.. before the eyes of the world , this is how are relationship stands..

With a quiet smile she gets up and goes to his bed.. where his black pathiani lay. Lovingly she folds it ,feels the collar with her fingers, and recalls his voice in a FB, because of you my life has a new meaning, it's because of you Naku! and her eyes yearn with love for him.. then she puts his clothes away neatly in his wardrobe.

She stands supported by his cupboard and says, it's fate that made us meet , got us married..what ever I am ? insignificant compared to you..I promise you, that I'll prove myself to be a good wife, and she moves from his cupboard to tidy his bed.. and fixes his duvet and says, I 'll show you Saab that not only am I a good friend , but also a good wife.. then she lifts his pillows and jumps back to find his pistol under it! bravely she lifts it up carefully on both her palms..and looks down at it terrified.

Dutttaaa! dressed in chocolate brown pathiani! stands in his door way.. his face dotted with red blood.. his eyebrows furrowed and his eyes ablaze!

Slowly he walks in and says.. are you scared? startled she looks up and sees him standing before the door inside the room! his hand covered in blood, face with bleeding scratches and clothes too blood stained.. her hands with his pistol in hand tremble ... and carrying the pistol on her palms she moves forward to him as he looks at her angrily..he too moves to her and stops before her.. looks down at her ,then full of fury he notices the sindoor in her hair..and in nervousness she drops pistol from her hands.. and it lands on the floor. She looks up at him in fright! but he stares at the sindoor in her parting.. arches his neck forward and bends his legs and picks up the gun from the floor.. and stands before her looking down at her trembling hands, then he holds his pistol in his hand and asks her mockingly , what are you afraid of ? you're bold enough to place a bomb in a car! you're scared of such a small pistol? for you this is just like a small toy! you play with people's emotions! He says caustically .. he swirls his gun around her face, when are you going to end this act of innocence ?huh? he grabs her cheeks in his palm and props her face up! what are you thinking? that you've applied the sindoor.. just remember one thing Naku! from today onwards all your dreams will just remains dreams! He roars... episode ends. Hamlet53~ 23.1.14.

After many episodes at last for me an uplifting and calming episode, which gives hope in the present sinister world of LTL ..

Kishore stands for those people who clearly stand for righteousness but, due to circumstances that could effect in loss of life of loved ones.. is tied down. However in times when goodness seems hopelessly choked by evil, and there seems faint signs of hope.. such righteous people in our lives offer valuable support.. it's as if they are a god sent..providing a quick refuelling with power so goodness can combat evil..

Hence although I may feel that Kishore may be committing the same sin as Naku.. with holding information from Dutta. In this episode he is amazing.

Kishore may fare weak and not defy his wife Kala out and out.. but he still does two basic jobs in this episode.. firstly provides Naku moral support, secondly, raises her awareness, warns her to be on guard! points out that she should come out of this naivety that now she is married everything will be fine over a passage of time.. he wants her to be aware of treachery and plotting where she least suspects.. he raises questions in her regarding the incident.

In a way Kishore has conveyed to Naku .. that, which he is unable to convey to Dutta .. beware of enemy within the house..

Dutta 's arrival in the end , I have to say was a pleasant surprise. Whereas Naku is all set to embrace her married life on a positive note despite the pitfalls.. Dutta comes in and reminds us all of the Shakespeare famous lines. "the course of true love never did run smooth"
