Episode 72

Dutta with all seriousnes takes supriya by her hand as if flaunting her in front of a cheering crowd. Poor naku devastated n dutta oblivious of her pain. How quick men change? 😛

Wow look who,s talking , Giving bhashan to our naku, tere liye bhi koi na koi hoga n all that nonsense. Gosh! Is he the same man who a few days ago refused to even look at a woman, yeh gadha nahi girgit hai, now patronising naku
Well this is how dutta has changed.. talking sense.. without realizing..

Now this has to be the most hated episode for me till now, dutta seeking supriya, holding her hands, cupping her face, raving n ranting how precious the two timing B#### is.. Aarrgggh! I hate this man!
bart there is similar scene he has with naku where he is in a yellow kurta? before his bar.. he holds naku's face on his palms.. he says HE can see himself in her eyes...?

Kishore n kala were brilliant, i mean what kind of a relationship is this? 😃 ofcourse he,s henpecked but in a rebellious way. Whatever kala has her way. His quoting shakespeare,s words aawww sooo apt atleast for kala. But i wonder why generalise it to all women? Dont men doublespeak when need arises ? Hmm afterall shakespeare also a MAN, no surprise there.., men n their misogynistic views about women 😡

Episode 73

What a mindblasting tactic from kala, planned to the tee, she has both supriya n ravi by the crux of their necks, totally in control not just for now but far ahead of all. No wonder kala sneers n jeers at her sisters, she,s too GOOD! 👏 The best among the rest. She is also true to her character, stays the same throughout. Its hard not to be in awe with this woman.

Dutta is the most gullible don one can come across, untill he,s openly challenged he has no clue.

Hammie have to agree with you that ravi didnt think twice accepting kala,s version, but such is kala,s charm. She has no match.

I have come to aporeciate Ravi n supriya atleast for one thing, they stand firmly with each other n their love is true but they lose all sympathy for stabbing dutta n the way they did it.
I wonder if Ravi does have regard for Dutta..?

Episode ~74

8th April 2010

Dutta & Supriya Haldi

The approach of night fall , along with the colourful Rangoli motif near the entrance of the main assembling place of Patil Navas marks the haldi ceremonies .Guests arrive .Dutta and Supriya sit beside each other on low stools. Dutta is dressed in a white kurta and mustard dhoti to signify the colour of the turmeric. Supriya too is dressed in a white Punjabi dress. People stand and look at the couple. Supriya steals a glance at Dutta and he returns shyly. Both are watched with great interest by their families. Roops teases her Bils, and then joins her sisters Kala and Leela who carry the bowl of haldi paste after getting it blessed before Bapaa's statue.

Kala crouches as she sets the bowl on the floor before the couple.. and then gives a wicked cunning smile to Supriya...and then goes and stands to the side. Both Kala and Supriya exchange glances and Dutta waits expectantly for the ceremony to commence.Aye invites Supriya's mother to begin the ceremony. Dutta's MIL, starts by dipping two mango leaves in the haldi paste and dabs Dutta's toes, his knees, shoulders, and then his two stubble cheeks and temples. All look and smile, and Aye Sahib remarks , with this turmeric paste, he will become fair as my daughter in law and Dutta gives Supriya a sided smile...and she shyly lowers her eyes. But Supriya's mother replies , but a dusky groom, and a fairer bride stand out more as a lovely couple. does this implicate that the groom has to be less in looks so his wife's beauty is accentuated more?

Supriya's mother repeats the ritual with Supriya's body as well , and Aye Sahib says dotingly, once she is part of our family, happiness will be every where...Jagdammba.. Dutta gives Supriya a loving sided look as she too smiles shyly. Supriya 's mother confesses before all, her daughter is blessed to part of this family. The sisters exchange evil glances.

Horsd'oeurve are beginning to be served, to people watching the ceremony. The couple sat stealing glances at each other, Kishore catches Kala's eyes and has a FB, Kala sneering at him, Kishore you are my husband only till the time I want you to be! and whenever I wish I can throw you out of my life..how she threw her mangalsutra on the table.. Kishore smiles with a such is life expression..

Sudarshan teases him , what are you thinking about? your own ceremony ?. Kishore replies yes , I am remembering whatever was worth remembering, the rest has long gone faded away... Sudarshan comments, this ceremony is very boring. Ganpat runs to his side , yes it is boring... no fun there should be something interesting like booze.. Ganpat licks his lips. Kala, watches then moves over and crouches to participate in the haldi ritual. As Dutta's eldest sister, she begins at his feet, knees, shoulders , and then his cheeks. He looks into her eyes smiling and as she pats his cheeks with the haldi drizzled mango leaves, pats his temples and she asks, Bhau ,you will not forget me after you get married Supriya looks at them quietly. Dutta asks her, you think I will?.. and she turns her face to Supriya and replies, when someone has such a beautiful bride, it's easy for any brother to forget his sister.. she teases..in Kala's puns , double meaning lie the complexities of her nature. She repeats the haldi ritual with Supriya and as she pats her cheeks , she asks, isn't that so? and then gets up and makes way for Leela to complete the ritual. .. Leela pats his cheeks and says, we won't let Bhau forget us so easily, isn't that right Bhau ? Dutta smiles at her and says, of course ! I will never forget you... if I do then who will bother me day and night! and Roops says, true! dare you change or forget us!

Roops comes then to repeat the ritual and people look lovingly at Bhau's youngest sister... she does the ritual and says , so cute isn't it! and he smiles lovingly at Roops , so does Supriya .Once finished with the ceremony the three sisters stand at the side and Dutta looks at them with a big smile.

Naku comes out of the kitchen carrying a platter of appetisers... and she looks at her Saab and Supriya looking and smiling at each other. She just looks at them covetous eyes. Her mother calls her and chides her, why are you standing her? go serve the snacks to all the guests. Naku follows her mother slowly to where Dutta sits with Supriya. Both Babi and Naku smile at the couple and Dutta smiles back at Naku .. who smiles but a serious smile.

Baji enters full of beans in a yellow sherwani. He whistles as he looks at the illumination in the corridor, wonderful lighting! just like a film shooting! He leans and looks ahead to see Dutta and Supriya sitting side by side covered in haldi! and he yells, looks like the shooting is about to wrap up!..

Naku and Dutta continue to stare into each other's eyes and Babi looks on nervously. and reminds her , Naku start serving, come, and she turns Naku away , from where the couple sat.

Baji arrives in a hurry and collides into Naku and her platter of sweets, he grabs a sweet and then stands before Dutta moaning, honestly Bhau! the ceremony is about to finish!why didn't you call me earlier? what did you think I'd turn up it intermission?

Dutta looks up at him with a dreamy smile, you still turned up didn't you? Baji smiles sheepishly and goes , here Bhau have a sweet.. Dutta with a grin puts his palm forward as Baji puts the sweet on his palm.. Dutta moves his head to the empty space beside him for Baji to sit. Kala spots this and before Baji can sit next to Bhau she says sternly, Baji what are you doing here? these rituals are only done by women... Baji argues, but it's Bhau's haldi surely I will participate in it! Dutta smiles and Roops goes over to Baji and challenges him , really! what will you do amongst woman, leave! now! and she pulls him by the arm and pushes him out! Baji moans but I want to be here! all laugh at the scene.. Baji being pushed out! shouts Bhau! Bhau! and Dutta tries to interrupt , by saying leave him be, but Roops say no you can't stay! and then she goes to Kala Tai and says.. now he won't come back.. Supriya sits with a glum face.. so it looks like Baji has been neatly moved away from Dutta's side.. too..

Kala and Supriya smile knowingly.

Aye Sahib invites Babi to apply haldi to Dutta. Babi and Ganpat well pleased , for as servants they are given preferential treatment. The sisters are irate.. but Aye Sahib insists and Babi applies the haldi to Dutta's toes first and then Supriya .. Naku watches silently.. Babi blesses the couple and Dutta clasps his palms before her .. Naku takes a deep breath and lowers her eyes, as Babi says god bless both of you you make a lovely couple!, and she returns to stand beside Naku.

Aye Sahib suddenly says Naku! you also come forward. Babi holds her breath .. Aye says come.. Kala , Babi look on ..Ganpat eggs her on, go on!. Naku opens her eyes wide and eventually gives the platter she carries to her mother.. and slowly moves to the couple.

Naku puts on a brave face, under the watchful eyes of foes and well - wishers. She bends her knees and holds the pair of mango leaves. Lovingly and carefully she daps his slender toes with the leaves.. and then with her big black eyes full of tears she dabs his stubble cheeks as if the leaves were her two palms caressing his face.. he looks straight into her eyes and says.. I hope you realize that this day is only possible because of you. Supriya turns to listen , and Naku sighs and quietly lowers her eyes, brings the leaves near his temples , looks on lovingly at him and then with a smile moves over to Supriya's side to complete the ritual with her.. Kala watches amused , at Naku's sadness riddled face.

Naku , dabs Supriya 's cheeks and both women smile at each other. Baji shouts from the audience, what a beautiful couple! and Naku's eyes sparkle as Dutta gives her a happy sided look.

Naku finishes then gets up, and Kala looks at her tongue in cheek, as Naku leaves the gathering from where the bride and groom sat.. straight into the kitchen it was all too much for her.. all notice Naku's sudden exit. Babi says nervously, there's loads of work in the kitchen..she might be tired, I'll go and check on her.. and I'ev got stuff on the stove. Aye sahib smiles..as Babi rushes off to see her daughter.

Kala sneers inside, is it the food that's burning or is it Nakusha's heart?

Kala smiles.. Dutta turns to Supriya and smiles as he looks at her smiley face. Supriya smiles as he rolls her eyes.. she obviously thinks of being with her lover soon enough ,courtesy of Kala Tai.

Baji's phone rings , he answers, why is he calling now?. Kala watches. Baji replies, hold on and then moves to Dutta's balcony area.

Kala is curious. She follows him and finds Baji having a go at some guy ,look I warned you , that till Bhau' wedding! I will handle his work! and why are you disturbing him now? I don't know what to do with you guys! I don't know how you got into this business ! he yells at the caller.

Kala now stands beside Baji on the balcony and has a go at him , what kind of a friend do you call yourself?. Baji hangs up and looks at Kala ,what do you mean? what happened ? Kala says craftily , Bhau is getting married in a few days and you are still working! he defends, it not work! it's about the wedding.. Kala rebukes him quiet! take care of the guests downstairs, the men looked so bored ! we ladies are happy doing the haldi.. Baji asks, tell me what you want? it'll be done in a couple of minutes! Kala says with a big cunning smile, look Bhau is getting married aren't you going to invite his friends and throw a bachelor's party for him? Baji puts his hand to his head,. oh lordie! why didn't I come up with such a great idea! the only thing that comes to my mind is guns and violence.! It's Bhau's first and last wedding.. so there should be eating ,drinking and entertainment !dont worry ,I will throw a fantastic party for him!.. Kala is well pleased but adds, one more thing we will be enjoying , however these servants can't be alert forever pointing their guns! even they need a holiday for one .. so here comes the big one.. Kala wants a breach in security.. part of her plan..

Baji falls for the bait.. and with a big smile says, don't worry , I will take care of everything! every one will be intoxicated and will have fun!

But clever Kala covers herself and alerts Baji , but Baji I hope this won't be risky? Baji stupidly says, risk? even if every one relaxes.. they'll be two people who are always alert , Dutta Bhau and BajiRao! .. danger cannot come inside...

Kala looks at him amused. Baji says , brilliant idea! I'll go and arrange everything! and he dashes off.

Kala now comes down Dutta's stairs and goes toward the males. She looks up at the balcony and muses, Baji has left, now I just have to send all these men away from here, what if they are around here during the song and dance sequence? No! I don't want to take any risk. She goes to Ganpat, Sudarshan, Kishore and says, what are you standing here for? go to Bhau's meeting room , Baji has arranged something special for all of you.. she looks at Ganpat and teases him, Ganpat kaka you go as well as there are arrangements for you as well. He says thanks Kala Tai and rushes off as rest of the male guests follow too...along with Sudarshan and Kishore.

Kala gives a content confident smile... and turns to see a BG near the entrance.. she goes to him and says, you also go and join Bhau's party !go go!..

She thinks.. all this has to be done in order to open the cage door... the bird is fluttering her wings, let's finish one round of celebrations till then... episode ends

Precap: today I am very happy for my Bhau, so no one will sleep tonight we'll celebrate, so both of you change and then return to this spot..

While one side traditions and rituals are followed to usher in the marriage of Dutta and Supriya. Kala on the other sides prepares and puts in place strategies to break this marriage, and more so to smash her brother's heart and push him back into the darkness of despair from where he was beginning to emerge. Such is the poison of revenge. Kala's revenge has been nurtured within her for years. It has made her , sharp in making judgements and taking decisions .. and she loves taking risks!

She is strong like her brother Dutta but comes across as more stronger then Dutta because she has more villainy in her then Dutta.. Kala is a cold blooded fish , where as he can sometimes transform in to a roaring lion.. but with a heart. His sister is heartless.

The obsession with light skin continues even in the haldi ceremony .. Aye Sahib's remark.. maybe she means the application of haldi paste on skin, removes blemishes and brings out radiance on the skin.. ?

Does Supriya know that this faithful servant girl Naku has it in for her self.. for while Supriya and Ravi escape , it will be Naku who will be living in hell.. for Kala has decreed that.. Kala never forgave Naku for saving Dutta's life.
