More mind games!

I feel let down? well personally I fancy Dutta drenched in action. I have to remind myself that I was given a helping of action Dutta, the night before ,highlighted with the much applauded and "seen it coming" Dutta's Sud bloody bashing treat!. That was the need then, but as of this episode Dutta seems to reforms his attack tactic. Would that be because there are ladies present, well except for one who is Medusa!

The scene opens against the backdrop of the wide real life canvas of a great, sunny, clear, rugged out doors day, which teems with fatality.

So what does my beloved Dutta do? he becomes a controlled steel blade ,sharp ,slow razor cut! Viola! I have Dutta conjuring up his acting skills for all present to witness. I see the humble, submissive Don graciously accepting defeat! what is he on ? this cannot be true? But I am also checking his body language; his lowered narrow eyes, his silent scanning of the terrain below for incendiary devices.I knew what was in Dutta's mind in the previous episode. But this unlike behaviour of his is playing games with my mind .Also looking at this present state of developments, it is nothing short of a let down, since it is a biggie covering Dutta/Kala faceoff. I have to say, both of them, brother and sister, Mishal and Aashka are stars, each as strong as the other, in their positivity and negativity.

But the question which nags me is why does Dutta simultaneously, alongside the visual scan, and calculating the time ticking! attempt this minus violence or by elevating his voice . Whereas in contrast in the previous episode his battle strategy, was a violent onslaught on Sudarshan's whole being?

What shocks me furthermore is Dutta's whole act of kneeled subjugation before Kala and his words to the effect that he had in the past misjudged her, and that she was always one step ahead of him, and more shrewd than him. I went whaaat? get up you prat! what cowardice submission has possessed you Dutta?

Do you know Dutta's words, teased me into thinking that is he actually complementing Kala for her dastardly intelligence, and in doing so in sense acknowledging that they are very similiar! well matched opponents!

Alas, I was still to see that not only is Kala amused by his perfect act, but Dutta himself is amused... and so he should be, as he is tightening the noose around her neck unsuspectingly. For missile Dutta knows that an arrogant person's weakness lies in the EGO!

Fantastic psychological war game , let the foe know she is stronger than he is... how he carries on talking to her till he stands assured that Kala is ready to give in.

The whole scene reminded me when Hamlet feigned madness to hood wink all, and it was said about him..." there is method in his madness" similarly I say the for Dutta! and then bang! how effortlessly he manipulates her into the embrace, and strategically brings Kala to the deadly spot where he is now in charge counting back wards 1-10!

This elusive Dutta, just when I feel he's caught, ensnares his captor! When I vouch he stands unpredictable, he proves he's transparent! This Dutta! with eyes that well, ends up getting the last laugh, This Dutta's nightmare of his past ,ends up redeeming his life.. my preconception of his definitive action is far from his thoughts ,deeds and actions! Yet how well we love this Mishal/Dutta and want him ... "to be".."to be"... "to be" ..!

What a birthday gift to Aashka i wil say ... another lovely treat from dearest hammie..

Oooh hammie, your action man, sher is turned to a haples prat..lol...😃 The reason being he was facing not any ordinary opponent, it was his own sister, a super suave woman on whom he showered unlimited love, adored, respected and doled out every materialistic comfort that he could afford. Never did he have an inkling of her evil mind and he was right when he said she was always two steps ahead of him.. But he could not have been possibly shown dealing her in the same ways he dealt Anna, chaskar or suds.

"Vinash kale vipreet budhi"... meaning "when destruction/downfal is nearer one acts/behaves with a deluded mind".. what kalavati did. She was overconfident, drowned in evility, hence couldnt foresee what Dutta was capable. Her dismissing seema's plea proved her shrewdnes. But one slip of judgement by her and the entire plot slipped out of her hand. It was characterestic of blind dutta to change tactics, to adapt to the situation and how wel he manouvered out of a very tight spot.

The ultimate face off between two established actors and characters of the show was very well construed. The rugged backdrop, kalavati brimming with a band of armed men and the hapless family held to ransom, everything planned to teeth. Yet dutta with sheer mind play as you put it tilted the balance to his favour, in the end aided by a very alert kishore, daring baji and not to forget seema's ultimate sacrifice. Everything fell in place perfectly. Suds too lived upto his notorious reputation and must say he remained loyal to kalavati, EDIUT!! Overall a rare mix of drama, suspense, action, a rarity on Indian television, mindblowing stuff.

You have brilliantly dissected every aspect of the episode especially dutta's nuances, his mind game... the analogy of Hamlet is apt. luvd your line making fun of his subjugation, was ROFL could imagine your thought process there.. SUPER!!😆 How well Aashka matched to Mishal at every step is noteworthy, my eyes was glued to the two throughout to catch some slip, but to my delight none whatsoever. She proves to be a worthy opponent to dutta except that she was on the negative side of the spectrum.

I have to admit through this thread, come to appreciate the show much more, on a higher level, which earlier found difficult to put my finger on. kya baat kya baat! 👏

The Wheels in Motion ~ Clip5

Very apt and extremely well written piece/take on this episode. This episode showed that despite his situation he's still capable of working with what he had...and his strength not only came with knowing what he can do but knowing that there was strength being emitted and support being given to him from his one and only Naku. I agree with your thoughts about that chair scene. She's always sort of put him higher then herself...probably related to her upbringing, the circumstances under which they met and the fact that her way into his life had been master/servant... it's utmost respect for him...her traditional views...the way she looks up to him that gives her this idea that he is above her like her god, savior. The man who salvaged her life in ways she didn't think possible...naturally she places him top...

Of course that aim weapon, target, shoot scene where he nails her sari was nothing short of cute..it was a moment for him to not only show his preciseness in his state but also state to her that they are equal and he's not above her...of course the two romance only goes as far as looking and gentle holding...gosh hammie maybe we should write the romance! LOL I'm sure we'd come up some hot and spicy!

Dutta's business work I think is sort of embedded in him...he takes what he does seriously even if its considered the other side of the law he holds her morals ethics and has his head on right. He knows what he's doing and what's best...his brain not be all that great when it comes to dealing with emotional/personal things but business side of things is something that just comes for him..he naturally has that knack to lead and help those who need it!

Mind Play ~ Clip 6

Need I say? Another brilliant written piece...like the emphasis on the word psychology here. You've nailed it. That's exactly what it is here battle of the mind and heart... together...can beat all odds eh? Like you've mentioned its natural for one to look at the situation at face value (like Kannji's wife)...what she knows her husband's in trouble and a blind man is trying to reassure her he'll fight? In stress one does not really look at the fine more important details you just react...and that was the case but despite all that Dutta still showed how he can manoeuvre around the situation and not let his temporary state hinder his abilities or cause problems for others...peoples man remember...he's a fighter...he'll see it through...use of strategically thinking...mind games involved...he knew what to do and how to do it and he won't let anything take that much from him...no doubt he'd be willing to die trying if it comes to that...but like you've tackled...he strikes the importance of mind and heart acting together..his strength to fight not only for justice but to return to his loved ones works to motivate the success of his battles...he'll fight...and do it hard and good because he wants to live...with his Naku...god can a man melt your heart any quicker? Lol...chal loved the piece and the epi...but watching it made me want to shut it off actually...hard to watch the entire epi knowing it's ended...

More Mind Games ~ Clip 7

This scene was his last battle...for MR...in the show...and its the face off with the sister he thought he knew and loved his whole life...and knowing what she'd done and her capabilities i'd say only made him sharper though it hurt him...he knew her mind...and I bet he knew she'd top his best opponent list...I think he knew what he was doing and what she wanted it..power..he knew that so it's like giving it to her to her not in saying he's not a worthy opponent or behind her but almost like saying I don't give a damn my family is more important...he did put up the act and planned, he wouldn't risk the lives of the people he loved...so he played it how he needed too and if that meant bowing down for a moment so be it... in the end he flipped her on to her backside lol...that's all that matters right! All safe and enemy out in the open...

I can only agree that both MR and AG were excellent in their roles...they mastered it by living in the character's shoes..it was a delight the pair of them on screen...thanks for the lovely bits...enjoyed the read...can't say the same about the epis ...broke my heart to watch it all over again :S
