Ani asked one question …Why did D bring back Naku ?

I have some more to add …After the mandir Sequence, where Naku saved his life ………after he told her she could leave …

Why was he in such gloomy state of mind ?

Why was he hurt when Naku returned the MS ?

Why did go to drop Naku and her family to town ?

Why did he keep staring at her all through the journey till the accident ?

Hey priya, thanx for the thread n for the doubts that refuse to die down, here's my take..
luv! luv! luv! 😃 i would like to scream at the top of my voice n would luv to believe it but after watching these episodes many times n taking things on their face value i would say that it was not that dutta was in luv with naku. Ofcourse he had immense respect for her guts n trusted her as a friend that's it. Beyond that its i guess readin too much into his most expressive eyes, haha!😉 He never treated naku as a servant mainly because she had saved his life n she understood him n was not scared to say her mind, it meant a lot to him. One could say he treated her at par with baji. He has never shied away of his feelings be it hate or luv n has not altered his relations to please anyone. So if he was in luv with naku then he would have surely let it be known. Like after the jagtap incident he for the first time truly felt something more for naku beyond respect n trust.
Regards to sups in his own words he mentioned more than once that he had come to luv supriya, even though it was still in its nascent stage as ma'm didnt stay long enuf. Then the supriya fiasco shattered him to the core n he believed he was made a fool again in matters of luv n trust. Hence the mindless rage.
Comg to your Qs one by one;
a. His gloomy state: He was ashamed that the person whom till yday he thought was the cause for all his miseries n the target of his hate had infact once again saved him n his entire family frm a certain death. He had lost his face n he looked like a fool.
b. His hurt when naku returned the MS: Yeah, this is my alltime fav scene in LTL, controlg my imaginations runnin wild i would say that he must have been pondering how reckless he had been in allowing himself to marry her in such an unbecoming manner. He stooped to unthinkable levels under the influence of alchohol, had made mockery of the holy matrimony. Then thinking of naku being put to this torture of unholy marriage just to get back at her n then the dishonour that is attached to a girl [babi also points it out to baji] the taboo with a forced marriage in full public view was too much.
c. Why did he go to drop naku: Guilt, guilt, guilt to the hilt for all that naku had to endure due to his behaviour. He in his own words failed to judge people n his ego blinded him. Hence he tried to show that he cared first by freein her frm the luvless bondage of a marriage n meant to make mends with this small gesture of goin to drop them himself. 😊

i agree with brvv, at that point it was obvious he didn't love her but for all she had done for him from the begining he was grateful, and didn't think it was right to send them packing with baji,she had done everything for him and his family not for baji. i think if he hadn't married her the way he did and put her through so much pain, he thought giving her freedom would get some respite for his deed,, because she loved him so much and would go to any lengths to give him happiness, he would hav tried to make the marriage work.and give her a chance. so i guess it was regret that under the cicumstances it was not possible. imo

Dutta is unable to let go of Naku under any circumstances. He may be giving various excuses to everybody who is willing to listen and even himself...bottom line is that he is dependent on her for emotional support..whether as a friend, gyan darshan instructor, as a sounding board ..and later as his love.

IMO as I have mentioned earlier emotionally he was always attached to Naku. He told her things he might have not even told Baji. She held a special place in his life and she would have continued to hold it even if he was happily married to Supriya. Such a person is your soul-mate and for Dutta Naku was one already. It was really difficult for him to kill her or let her go once that bond had formed between them. The love what he thought he felt for Supriya and the happiness and calmness which came into his life due to that love was actually due to Naku rather than Supriya. He had that image of Supriya as Naku had poured her feelings into the image of Supriya she created in Dutta's mind.

I dont think Dutta is a person who would hide his feelings. Its just that he mistook one feeling for another. But when Jagtap pointed it out he saw the truth and realized his true feelings for Naku.
