Bua welcomed Dutta with a bear hug...kitne saalo baad tu a rahe hai hamare yeha...Bua exclaimed so did other ladies of the house, Phupha came forward, he was looking too old, was recovering from his first attack, infact Dutta's reason of visiting Bua was Phupa's ill health, now he is much better so Dutta thought to pay a visit, in the house of this man Dutta had spent some wonderful holidays, Dutta has come with an offer, to take him and Bua to Mumbai for thorough checkup but the self respecting simple man his Phupa is, Dutta had his doubts whether he will agree, nevertheless ....
Soon Dutta got busy catching up with his cousins, some joined the family business, others looked after their farmland, one of them was working as a supervisor in a local factory...
Few of them had got married, Dutta was introduced with their wives, some had children Dutta handed over their presents....
After dinner, Dutta sat with his Bua' s elder son, Jitesh, talking about their childhood days and the changes thereon...keya Dutta shaadi wadi karo, hume bhi koi bahana mile Mumbai jane ki, to see the rich and famous...
Uske liye tumhe meri shaadi ka intezaar nehi karna parega, you can come anytime tumlog ho ki ateh nehi ho..
Jitesh gives a smile, his family doesn't like the show of wealth his mamaji now does, they were also quite well to do albeit nothing compared to Mamaji but had enough...
Areh Munna saadi waadi karne ka irada hai ki nehi, Bua entered Jitesh's room, Dutta and Jitesh quickly put out their cigarettes...
Ladki kaha Buaji...
Kiyu tujhe ladikiyo ki kami kab se hone lagi
Dutta laughed, he knew thanks to the media Bua and her family was aware of his adventures...
Kami toh nehi hai, lekin ...
Lekin? Bua was curious...
Dilwali nehi hai......Dutta said softly...
Hai hai, keya baath hai, humlog ke time me toh koi yeh nehi dekhta ki dilwale mila ki nehi, pakar ke de dete the, lekin baad me theek ho jata, ..mera kehne ka matlab tha jaida dhunde ga na, dhunde te hi reh jayega...
Aap milte to me itna dhundta nehi, Dutta winked at Jitesh...
Ha mujhe maloom hai, bachpan se tujhe mai bahut pasand hu, inspite of her age Bua blushed....kitne baar tu keh chuka yeh baat aur toh aur yeh baat bhabi ko jaida pasand nehi hai....
Dutta smiled...his mother and his Bua had cordial relationship but somewhere his mother did not like Dutta going ga ga over Bua and Bua did not like Dutta's mother's new habits as Dutta retired to bed, he remembered Bua's blushing face on his compliment...Bua was a simple woman, two years elder to his father, she was married young, the bari bahu of her family, infact his father was very proud of his sister, the family had seen several ups & downs but Bua has kept the family together, he husband a man of few words, Bua has guided the family out of several crises, crop failure, soaring of seed prices, she was admired for the intelligence, her sense of duty and her keeping cool during crises....his father boasted how the sarpanch also came to her for advice though his mother listened to her husband, it was obvious she did not like it much...

After breakfast, Dutta went around the village sitting on the pillion of one of his cousins to see the changes taken place over the years....he hated to see hoarding boards around the village square advertising latest brand of toothpaste, soaps etc, he felt the flavour of the village was ruined...Mukesh, his cousin laughed...Dutta bhai this is commercialism, don't you advertise your products...
Yes we do...but...
No buts, we use these products, even though we live in villages we use paste and soaps daily so why not....
Nevertheless Dutta did not like the idea...
Bhai, the day you will make those products you will also advertise here, agar hum janenge nehi toh kharidenge kaise '
Dutta saw the point but left still felt the somehow the old feeling of village square was lost'
Areh pakro pakro pakro'.an old man clad in dhoti was shouting, pointing out to a group of boys cycling away'
Areh keya huwa Chacha, Mukesh wanted to know'
Aur keya hoga beta, mai thora us diwal ke pechhe'.aur us bhootni ne mujhe pathar mara
Diwal ke pchhe'aap keya kar rahe the diwal ke pechhe'
Keya kar raha tha, samjha karo beta'.
Mukesh winked at Dutta, Mai kuch samjha nehi chacha, Diwal ke pechhe aap keya kar rahe the...
Pishab kar raha tha...aur keya...diabetic hu...abh har samay toh khulla nehi na rehta hai sulabh me jane ke liye (the public toilets in India are normally set up by an organisation called Sulabh)...
Tabh toh theek hi kiya, sulabh to bagal me hi hai....
Tumlog, tumlogo ki waje us bhootni itna bar gayi hai'Chacha was hoping mad to hear what Mukesh had to say'Mukesh gave a loud laughter and drove away'.telling Dutta that chacha will not spend to go to Sulabh but with that money have sweets which is not good for him'
Lekin yeh bhootni kaun hai, Dutta asked'
Hai ek...areh Vinod, kal ka match humlog jeet gaye suna...
Ha bhaiya jeet gaya, Vikas ne century mara...
Areh vah yeh toh bahut achha khabar hai, finals me hume jitna hai...
Dutta frowned is it the same match they are talking about, if yes why did the players get down a station ahead,
Chalo Dutta Bhai, tumhe hamara nayi stadium dikhate hai, idhar finals khela jayega'
Kis chheej ka finals?
Woh jo cricket tournament chal rahe hai na, one day match being played amongst 10 villages around here, a very prestigious tournament'
Yeh Vikas,
Ha Vikas is one of our star player lekin bare match o me thora nervous ho jata hai'.
Vikas ek ladka hai'Dutta said it to himself'
Mukesh gave him a funny look, of course Vikas ek ladka hai, naam jab Vikas hai, ladka hona chahiye na'
Dutta quickly recovered'..no no I know two Vikas's and both look a bit girlish'
Mukesh smiled, so does this one'.but wait till you watch him play, if he can keep his nerves intact he is no less than Tendulkar'.
Now that is a big exaggeration, Dutta smiled'
Maybe but he is real talented'
