Wow! Kala took a leaf out of Dutta's book and called herself Kalavati Shriram Patil!
Boy! Yahan toh achche achche log apna naam Shaadi key baad badal daytein hain.

But Kala is an exception. She managed to get her husband to live in her mother's house. Made a mouse out of him, silently watching her manipulations. She has a son, but cares very little for him. She dangles him from the balcony.
She needs the husband and the son to show to the world that she is just another 'normal' person. That's the reason she does not want Kishore to leave her. That may also be the reason that she has till now not considered having Kishore killed or maimed. Even though Sudarshan has tried to goad her, telling her that her God-fearing husband will get them all in trouble someday.
She wants to appear 'normal' while she hungers for the power, position that comes from being part of "Shriram Patil" (because it is Dutta's name) not "Kishore Rao".
Funny, how the Don with the Good Heart, and the Dame with the Evil Heart both stake their claim on Shriram Patil, who himself was a mild-mannered guy.
Kala is careening towards madness. Maybe she wants to take over Dutta's business. And become Godmother?
She says she does not want to harm him, just defeat him, make him alone and miserable.
For what? She killed DP, avenged all her miseries. What does she want? Take over Dutta's empire?
If LTL is planning on competing with Sesame Street, I hope it happens. Baaji and Dutta and Nakku will have a Vanwaas (Jungle Exile), and Kala will rule.
We will have the Jungle Track again 👏
Then, Dutta and CO need not worry.
Kala, Suds and the other two sisters will fight with each other like the cursed Yadavas (Krishna's tribe) and kill each other👏
Yippeee! I love this thought! CV's I hope you are reading this.

Hey, looks like all the daggers are out for Kala, at least from the Ltlians on this particular forum. We all know who will have the last laugh but our very own Iago does have to go right to the pinnacle of madness before she tips over for the worse....
It is unfortunate but we will have to put up with her until the ultimate truth comes out. I have to grudgingly, confess my admiration for her perfect act of Lucifer the devil....I am tempted to say "In praise of the Devil" just looking a the ease with which she seems to be relishing the character of Kala👏
Somebody mentioned Komolika today on the forum. She is oddly pass.....The new Evil Queen is Kalawati Sriram Patil.

Oddly, I find Evil, evil characters tiresome. That takes the focus to 'outside' influences on us, our actions.
I would like to see less-than-perfect characters fighting, dealing with their inner demons, than some Evil character playing around with their lives.

You know, I agree with this viewpoint completely. But even in the greatest of epics, the hero and the heroine had the arch nemesis within the family itself; Keykeyi in Ramayan who sent the hero into exile, Duryodhan in Mahabharat who conspired against his brothers. So kalawati isnt out of the ordinary here. How she receives her retribution will be interesting to see. I think she will meet the same fate that she seeks for Dutta, alone, powerless and friendless, she will be deserted by everyone. Her remorse would also be nice to see, since AG is a fab actress.

Kavita, I kind of like your reference to Lucifer.
As far as my knowledge goes, Lucifer was a fallen Archangel, determined to undo what ever good or beautiful God created.
They say to avenge the humilation of losing the Archangel status. He could have stopped with getting Adam and Eve thrown out. But no, he did not .
So, what was his motivation to keep coming back? What is Kala's motivation to keep coming back?
Is she trying to defend or justify to herself, her mindless acts of revenge, by holding on to her excuse "his-father-killed-my-dad-and-robbed-me-off-my-mom's-love"?
Will she stop when she has got her revenge? That's the question.
And the answer to that will answer my question, what is her motive? And what will it take to finally satiate her hunger for revenge?
Dutta, DP, Baaji are 'situational' evils. Kala, may be really evil.
I read a research on Nice Parents having a evil child (not just a black sheep). The researcher has the theory that nurture does not always succeed in overcoming nature. There are people, who are just wicked and we can do nothing about it. No amount of analysis or explanation helps. They are simply wicked.

Yes droopy_asleep (I am fighting sleep 😉). To take your point further, the protagonists too were less than perfect. We made them sound and look perfect with our justifications and explanations.
Let me give you examples:
Ram kills Vaali (the monkey king) from standing behind many trees. Clearly a violation of the Kshatriya code. But why? Because Vaali has the power to rob the opponent off any power by his presence. I think this may be true, or may have been invented later.
No one till date has tried to tell us, Ram was a human. He was less powerful than Vaali. Because that would rob him off his God status.
Ravana abducts Sita. But he never got to touch her. How? Because he had a curse that his head will blow to pieces if he touches any woman against her will. So he just takes her away along with the piece of earth on which she is standing!
Ram ask his wife to go through the Agnipariksha. But it is okay, because he had kept the real Sita with the Fire God.
Arrey yaar, why don't we just accept the fact that he may have been Vishnu's avatar, but he had to come on earth and live like a human, so he needed to have these flaws.
Then we always have a Mantara or a Shakuni to blame for the evil deeds.

Wow. NOFM and Kavita, interesting thoughts here.

I do not know if Kala is the Devil incarnate. I'd equate her to Faustus, who sold his soul to the Devil for power. She is power hungry. I think she is one of the best negative characters i've seen on tv. She had a brilliant motive. And i love it that she's playing mind games with Dutta. She is the most intelligent character in the show, and is utterly heartless and remorseless. Also, she loves having Dutta dance to her tunes. There's a hint of the Jocasta complex here. I think she's half in love with the man Dutta is. I'm not thinking incest here, just that she does seem to be slightly possessive about him. Why would she want to control him else? all said, this is one twisted character with no hope for redemption. I cannot even think of a worthy punishment for her.

Naku's love winning over her evil will surely be the worst defeat. I'D love it if Naku plays mind games with her, pretending to fall in her trap and emerging victorious every time. That would be fun.

Liz, Nakku will end in the Loony Bin😆
I wish Nakku and other 'weak' characters would just shut up and listen to the melodramatic revelations of 'evil' characters and silently challenge them. Instead of retorting.
The best way to intrigue and frustrate Kala is to keep silent and do the right thing. Instead of answering her (and wasting screentime).
I have known Silence to be a bigger killer than a retort.
It has worked on the Brother. Surely, it will work on the Sister too 😉
Nakku, you listening?

Beautifully put Liz. I have been thinking about this angle also. She is possessive about him, to the extent that she wants to influence all his decisions. Up until now, he was influenced by Naku and by Baaji, so she was not able to control Dutta, and hence she is alienating them.
But, what about Aai Saheb? What will she do about her? She is her own mom, at least one can say that Dutta is her step brother so she is justified to a certain extent. Will she stoop to a level where she can even eliminate AS for her power?

Droopy, in the earlier episodes we were shown that she cares for AS. But after getting thrown out of the house, she resents her mother for loving Dutta more. Which is completely AS's fault. She is completely responsible for the disaster called Kala. And now, Kala is so blinded by her quest that she does not care for anyone any longer.
