I thoroughly enjoyed this part, especially the ending, but I'll go through things in order...
Nakusha chose to blame her hormones for her unashamed ogling. 'Hello Nakusha,' he said, grinning at her, an amused glint in his eyes. He took a step forward, his tall frame filling the doorway.
She frowned as the look in his eye told her that he was up to something.
LOL! I adore Naku and her determination to pin her reactions to Dutta on her hormones! Hahah, she's a tough woman, but extremely sweet! I like that blend! Dutta's amused glint made my smile even wider...And Naku's reaction...She's already starting to read his body language - ah, I love it!
I honestly wasn't expecting Naku to sink down onto the sofa like that, but I guess it really was the hormones this time, haha! I'd half-expected her to put up a fight for her independence. Yep, definitely the hormones. Or maybe Dutta's resilience. Or both. Nevertheless, it was a rather cute reaction!
Dutta sighed and travelled the small distance across the room to take hold of her shoulders, drawing her closer to him and holding her against his chest. Muffled sobs escaped from her lips as she weakly clung to him.
'You have to understand why I'm doing this Nakusha, please,' he pleaded, threading his fingers through her hair in a soothing gesture.
Her tears soaked through the fabric of his shirt. As she pulled away, her eyes red and moist, she watched his eyes sweep penetratingly over her face. She quickly averted her head, in a hopeless attempt to control the rapid pacing of her heart and to resist the temptation of simply melting in his arms.
How cute, how cute! The way he ran his fingers through her hair was completely awww-worthy! đł My god, I love even the most casual of interactions between the two of them, they're SO sweet. Hopelessly drawn to everything about them - does that sound familiar? đ
The entire exchange between Dutta and Naku about the tie and "making myself at home" was hilarious! Why do I think Nakusha was expecting something else? LOL, maybe my imagination is running away with me - first reading Temptations and then TLMH probably affected that thinking process in some way, haha! Man, Dutta is completely at home already, isn't he? Loved Naku's vehement reaction about his tie on the floor; Dutta was like, "Is she serious...? Oh. Yeah, I guess she is." ROFL, too cute.
He cautiously leaned over to pick up the tie as she watched him like a cat would a mouse. 'Thank you,' Nakusha said sweetly, her eyes twinkling with delight at his act of obedience.
Dutta's lips curled into a smile at the way she could turn from totally terrifying to irresistibly sexy within seconds. He watched her curiously. There was a magnetic pull that she had over him which drew him to her incessantly, and he was powerless to stop it.
Nakusha's smile slowly faded as Dutta refused to take his eyes off her. A languid weakness fused through her at the piercing gaze of his, her heart hammering away uncontrollably.
Naku, our darling sherni! Funny how that worked out! But the rest of the quoted portion...*sigh* The powers of description...Fantastic, once again, Zahra! The sexual tension in the air was palpable...I always feel like I'm seeing every little detail in my mind's eye! And needless to day, I LOVE it all!
'This is just...amazing,' said Dutta, finally able to muster the courage to speak.
Nakusha nodded, tears blurring her vision. 'Yes...amazing,' she repeated.
What more can I say about the entire part preceeding the ending than "AWWWWWWWW!" â¤ď¸
