They hit it out of the ballpark with the background score today! It was very well done, absolutely fitting with the scenes, even magnifying the magnitude of the situation. Awesome stuff.
My favourite parts:
- The way Nakku held on to Dutta's arm and tried to talk to him, even jerking him around to face her! I loved her determination, the fact that she looked Dutta in the eye the whole time. Even with all the guilt, desperation and shame she must be experiencing, she held her head high and fought to get through to him.
- When Dutta drags Nakku to the picture...he lists out the 'masoomiat, bholapan' of his Nakku...'Iska kalapan,' he says slowly, staring at the fair Nakku...and you can tell that in that moment, he himself realizes that the girl standing in front of him is the very same! He tears his eyes away from her and goes into denial, talking to himself, convincing himself, "Tu meri Nakku nahi ho sakti, tu koi farebi hai." But the way he looks at her, horrified, he knows it's her. MR's expressions were beyond fantastic here!
- While the high voltage drama occurs in the main hall...All of a sudden, Dutta wryly laughs, "Wah." Goosebumps!
I loved Kala too. Weird of course because her intentions are obviously skewed but the way she tried to get through to Dutta and advocated for all of them...told him to stop screaming because it wouldn't change the truth, asked him how he can say such bitter things to the mother who accepted him, etc. Aashka acted sooo well! Add to that, how perfect was the way in which she drew attention to Babi, to Baaji...at just the right moments, making them wish the ground swallowed them up on that very spot!
And Babi was going to get a smack from me for the most extreme and annoying edition of pallu-chewing today, but she redeemed herself when she pleaded and said that Nakku always wanted to reveal the truth but it was her who became a buffer everytime. Nakku really needs every bit of the help she can get...so glad Babi didn't just leave her stranded.
