she was named the "Nakusha" , meaning some one who doesn't give happiness to any one...the unwanted.....she was born beautiful but her mother kept her covered with soot to protect her.....she was ridiculed by every one......loved by only her mother...then morey saw her beauty and wanted to sell her off...she escaped thanks to a man who helped her out...she saved his life and she came to his family...again faced ridicule for her soot covered looks.....but she smiled...she fell in love with this man who was the complete antithesis of her nemesis More.....yet she did not say anything and helped him to open his heart out to another girl....the girl ran away and his sisters blamed her...she did not say anything...he married her, tortured her...yet she selflessly loved him...despite all the trials...after he had a change of heart he wanted to let her go and went to leave her...had an accident..she refused to leave him....Anna kidnapped her...he got her back...he fell in love with her.....but never bothered to know her as a person....everything happened....she could not tell him the truth of her life because people told her not to...what could she do? and now after marriage..he will come to know about her and again torture her....agreed she should have said something but she is not a modern day woman...she is an illiterate who lives by her own principles fed by life and her mother...he should be angry but should he blame her?
why is it she who is subjected to all the torture despite the sacrifices?
What sacrifice did Dutta make for her? Saved her from Anna? or saved her from More?he would have saved anyone, any woman,.... but what else did he do? he says he loves her but what did he do to prove that love? Sorry people you might be with Dutta but i hate to see Naku suffer...she couldnt tell him the truth no doubt but does that mean that she is a dhokebaaz or she should suffer again? and again?

Why isnt Dutta subjected to a test of his love? Why isnt he tortured? He hates beauty and he was not told about her face...okay but does that change all that she did for him? and she asked him for nothing....Naku is a selfless person but what about Dutta? Doesnt he just think of his life, his emotions and himself? Has he ever thought about her trials, her life, her emotions?

Good post Chinu.

Here's one thing that I even have come to learn, but not always accept:

Not everyone is willing or even able to give the same in kind...

For example, Naku, by experience, temperment, or whatever, GIVES. She loves Dutta, her actions always, always have him in mind. She sacrifices, that is what she does. For her mother, for her family, for the animal on the street, etc. It's her nature.

Dutta is different. His experiences, temperment, makes him different than Naku. On top of that, he is a male. He lives by words. He has a code of conduct, a hangup on honesty and everyone being true to their word. We know Dutta understands how much Naku loves him because of all her actions and sacrifices. But he still is, at the end of the day, a man who expects certain things from people--honesty being foremost.

Naku is suffering because of her fate and her CHOICES. Her choices related to Dutta were always WRONG. She always kept things hidden from him, sacrificing, trying to save him some anguish. And Dutta only wanted honesty. That is something she did not get into that head of hers.

Do you or even we feel that Dutta needs to sacrifice like Naku did to prove his love? Well if we believe that, then we also have to believe that Naku needs to always tell the truth to prove her love for Dutta.

And she IS a dhokebaaz in Dutta's eyes, and he is right. She betrayed him, his trust...does anyone actually think she did not betray him by lying about her true face??? It is what it is, even with the good reasons behind it.

I hope Dutta works through his anger, it takes time for a person like him. He does not need to forgive Naku, but he has to understand that she loves him truly and that he cannot live without a person like her in his life. He needs that, as much as he needs food, water....to survive.

valid and good points chinuji 👍🏼

but its the norm of life, its a male dominated society, the females always sacrifice yet they are also the ones questioned for everything, as an old saying goes, "pati ka koi pati nahi hota" 😆

In general, I think there is some truth to that. However, people make choices to sacrifice. Women in general are expected to sacrifice....perhaps trained to think that way with their upbringings and culture, but IN THIS SITUATION, that is not the case.

Naku sacrifices because she loves Dutta. THAT's how she shows her love. But Naku is a person who always, always HAD THE CHOICE to tell the truth. She CHOSE not to.

Did she really have a choice to tell the truth...see it from her perspective not from a modern girl's mind...she is an illiterate, her only friend is her scaredy cat mother who is her only shelter from the roving eyes of the world...then when she did try to tell the truth she was stopped by kala and AS who had agendas of their own....AS even black mailed her to marry or let Dutta die.....what makes you think she had a choice? She was a person who was stopped by every one....I agree in case of supriya she should have told the truth and that did cost her but here her mother stopped her, AS stopped her and Kala stopped her and even Baaji stopped her...if she is to pay the price for this betrayal, so must they...each one of them....

I agree...

She did a mistake...he can be mad/angry/indifferent/silent etc etc..he does not want to see her face..ok.......but I am really getting sick of the word 'dhokebaaz' , that she is going to be 'punished'....

I really really really feel bad for Dutta and I will cry W*H him when his heart breaks tomorrow...I started watching this show for Dutta and still watch it for him. He is the most beautifully potrayed character with so many layers and somehow I can never ever see him unhappy and can never accept that he is wrong in anything he does..., but Nakku's character is a loveable one too....it grows on you..

it is Nakku's fault that this happened to him...but I don't want the stuff she did for him, love for him to be overlooked ever...Everyone have their own way of showing love...she showed it her way...thats all there is to it...now if it is the wrong way of hiding her face because of the fear(superstition) that he might die if they don't get married or listening to the elders....she is going to pay the price....her fears did not let her stand up to Dutta and tell the truth..whatever it is, it is her thought process...its almost like Dutta's thoughts on beautiful women!

In a way both are going to pay the price for each of their fears, the fears that is still like a thorn in their love story...How they come out of this is going to be beautiful!

true points from all.. i agree that yes it also depends on one's choice.. but at the same time, if one is being influenced by the elders / people on a particular decision, at the end of the day, why are those people not also questioned? 😕 as chinuji puts it, nakku is pressured by all not to reveal her secret, kya karti woh? 😕

yes naku has been wrong but i agree on the point that we all have different ways of showing our love...some show it by over protecting...some by setting their loved one free...some by caring for that person....etc. naku did what she could think of and remember when she told her mother that she will only tell the truth when she tells her to.....so its her fault but any child would do that ......especially in india....i would have also done the same thing if it was my mother telling me because though naku loves dutta but she loves her mother too

Exactly.....the way they've set this up.....Nakku brought this upon herself with the way she chose the moment to tell him the truth (No doubt she is a simple, uneducated girl who easily got swayed by AS and Baabi ka emotional blackmail) but that doesn't change the facts....she DID lie to him this time....first wedding ke time she didn't have a choice....he forcibly married her....this time she had a choice going into this wedding....and she chose to hide the truth again (whatever may be the reason)

I personally find Dutta's reactions perfectly understandable....no matter how much Nakku's love brought about a change in him, his basic prejudices against beauty and his hatred of lies and dhoka remain the same....and she did technically lie to him.....she lost the chance to present this in a better manner so the aftermath is bound to be ugly now.
