Part 5
"You love her?" Roops asks shocked.
"Yup!" Dutta replies as if it is no big deal.
"OMG! YOU LOVE HER!!!" Roops says excitedly as she jumped up and down. Then falling on him she says as she hugged him, "I love you!" and then she quickly turns to Nakku and hugs her too. "He loves you!!! This is just awesome."
Nakku looks at Dutta in confusion and he winks at her with a smile and she starts blushing.
"Wait a minute!" Roops says moving back confused. "When did you tell her that? I didn't hear you guys talking."
"I messaged her."
"Oh!" Roops says smiling then asks confused, "How do you have her number?"
"Well Roops... you see, she is my girlfriend."
"WHAT?" Roops asks shocked as she looked at him and then turns to Nakku. "Is this true?"
"Yes." Nakku replies.
"You two were a thing and you never told me?"
"Roops, let me explain." Nakku starts.
"You better!" Roops says tying her hand on her chest.
"Ah interesting!" Dutta says as he got more comfortable on the couch.
Nakku turns to him in shock realizing he was enjoying this.
"Let's talk in your room." Nakku tells Roops after she glares at Dutta.
"Okay." Roops replies frowning.
They start walking towards her bedroom when Dutta furiously stands up. "Wait a minute!"
Nakku and Roops turns to look at him.
"I just told you I love you and you are running off with my sister leaving me here to have a private talk?" Dutta asks pissed.
"Dutta?" Nakku looks at him in shock.
"It's not like I am telling I love you to someone for the first time in my life."
"Oops!" Nakku mumbles and turns to Roops, "Roops, I'll just talk to him and come."
"Yeah go ahead!" Roops says sarcastically. "You talk to him and come back to me when you are all done. It's not like I was important enough to know about your relation."
"Roops?" Nakku looks at her in shock. "What happened to you?"
"What happened to me? let's see... my best friend has been going around with my brother behind my back and I find out about it from my brother... no big deal... it happens to everyone."
Nakku looks at her in shock and starts feeling guilty she turns to Dutta, "Dutta, we will talk... but let me talk to her first."
"Why not? Go ahead... after all you two were best friends for years while we have been together for just a month."
"A MONTH?" Roops asks shocked while Nakku looks at Dutta in wide eyed shock.
"You two have been going around for a month?" Roops asks Nakku.
"Yes."
"And you never felt it necessary to tell me?"
"DUTTA, I WILL TALK TO YOU LATER! I NEED TO TALK TO ROOPS!"
"Who am I to say anything? You are the one who decides everything... like how you decided to hide everything from Roops!"
"WHAT?" Roops asks shocked.
"I can't believe you said that!" Nakku says shocked. "YOU PIG!!!"
"That's it, Nakku... that is the way about it... I tell you I love you and you reply back with you pig."
"Stop behaving like a kid, DUTTA!"
"I am acting like a kid? I tell a girl about my love and she ignores that to have a private talk with my sister and then she calls me a pig and says that I am acting like a kid?"
"Roops?" Nakku turns to her for a little help.
"What?" Roops spats out.
Big help she is going to be.
"Dutta?"
Dutta ties his hand on his chest as he glared at her.
Nakku keeps looking at Dutta and Roops, not sure what to do.
"Well?" Roops asks pissed.
"Huh?" Nakku asks.
"Who is it going to be?" Dutta asks, "Your best friend for life or your so called love of the life?"
Nakku looks at them horrified that her life was going to be like this, standing between these two trying to choose one when they threw such stupid tantrums.
Taking a deep breath, Nakku goes to Roops. "Come!"
Roops smirks at a furious Dutta and they both go to Roops bedroom.
Dutta watches in shock Nakku and Roops walking away. He wanted to throw something at them, at least break a stupid glass but he couldn't find anything that was not that expensive so he could break it. If it was that Jo Mo she would have gone running behind him drooling all over the floor. He finally spots the remote. He was going to break the damn remote!
"Sit here! I am coming in a bit." Nakku tells her and runs out to find Dutta picking up the remote but noticing her, he turns to look at her dropping it back on the table. She runs to him and hugs. "I love you too." Nakku tells him and kisses him on his lips. "Now I'll talk to you later... okay?" Nakku tells him and turns to run back when Dutta pulls her back to him and kisses her soundly.
Nakku sighs happily as she looks at him. He caresses her cheek lovingly.
"I am still angry." Nakku tells him.
"Why?"
"Because you were acting like a spoiled brat... and you just fed me to the wolves."
"My sister a wolf? I should tell her about this." Dutta tells her grinning.
Nakku angrily hits him. "What was the need for all this?"
"All what?"
"Choose between one of us... crap!" Nakku says getting angry.
"I don't like it."
"Even I don't like it." Nakku tells him.
"I meant, I don't like it that I even have to ask you to choose." Dutta tells her seriously.
Nakku looks at him in shock.
"It should always be me." Dutta tells her with a shrug.
"What? You mad?"
"I want to be the numero uno person in your life."
"Huh?"
"Call me crazy... but I am what I am."
"And what are you?" Nakku asks shocked seeing this side of him.
"When I am there, you should only look at me. When I am not there, you should only think about me. I should be your number one priority. It should be always Dutta! Dutta! Dutta! for you."
Nakku looks at him in shock and then he adds, "Like how it is for me, Nakku! Nakku! Nakku!"
A smile breaks out on her face, "You are mad."
"That I am!"
She leans up and kisses him on his cheek.
"YUCK!" Roops says making puking faces. "This is why you left me there? To kiss him?"
Nakku sighs loudly and turns to Dutta and says in a soft voice, "I came to you first. now let me go to her."
"Okay." Dutta says with a smile.
"Love you." Nakku whispers and walks off to Roops.
"So?" Roops asks as she settles down on the bed.
"He loves me." Nakku says with excitement.
Seeing Nakku's excitement Roops couldn't help smiling. "How did it happen?"
Nakku fills in her on what all had happened between Dutta and her. "I have been dying to tell you all this but then he was not ready for it... you understand right?"
"Yes. I am angry but I understand." Roops says smiling.
"Awww I love you." Nakku says as she hugs Roops.
"You are his girlfriend but I am your best friend. And it should be like that always." Roops tells her.
"Of course." Nakku says suddenly having a vision of Dutta and Roops pulling on her hand from each side in their fight over her and ripping off her arms.
"Did you tell him about Bhaaji and me?" Roops asks worried.
"Of course not! It is not my place to talk about your relations to your brother." Nakku reassures her. "And he might be my boyfriend but we are girlfriends and we stand for each other... right girlfriend?"
"Right!" Roops says smiling.
Nakku and Roops were talking when Dutta comes to the door.
"Nakku."
"Yeah?"
With two fingers he gestures her to come and walks off.
"I'll just go see what he wants." Nakku tells Roops and goes behind Dutta.
"What happened?" Nakku asks as she followed him to his room.
"What?" Dutta asks as he closes the door.
"Why did you call me here?" Nakku asks.
"Well you had your time with my sister, now it is my alone time with you." Dutta says as he pulls her close to him.
"WHAAAT?"
"What what?"
"Are you telling me that I should keep a time table and spend equal time with you and Roops?" Nakku asks shocked.
"What? No!" Dutta says pissed.
Nakku starts relaxing and he says, "You should spend more time with me."
Nakku looks at him in shock, what the hell was happening? Why was she suddenly in too much demand? Then she couldn't think anything as Dutta started kissing her.
"So you love me." Nakku says smiling as she looked up at him as they hugged.
"Yes." Dutta replies smiling. "I just couldn't tell you before but then you were always so open about your feelings for me I felt I should do the same."
"Good." Nakku says smiling.
"NAAAKUUUSHAAA!" Roops calls her.
"Ignore her." Dutta tells her.
Nakku sighs dramatically "I have to go."
Nakku walks into Roops room.
"What took you so long?" Roops asks her frowning.
Nakku shrugs.
"Okay... come check this out... Priya and her boyfriend's new photos on facebook."
Roops and Nakku were checking out the scandalizing pictures and gossiping when Dutta comes there.
"Nakku, what is taking you so long?"
"What?" Nakku looks up.
Dutta starts frowning, "I was waiting for you there and you are looking at photos and gossiping?"
"Hey! We will do whatever we want." Roops says offended.
"No one asked you. Nakku, come."
"She is not going anywhere!" Roops says holding Nakku's hand possessively.
"You don't decide that." Dutta tells her.
"Fine!" Roops says and turns to look at Nakku expectantly.
Nakku looks at her and then looks at Dutta who was impatiently waiting.
"What has got inside you two?" Nakku asks exasperated.
"What?" Roops asks shocked. "You are my best friend."
"Yes I am."
"You come here to meet me..."
Dutta scoffs loudly.
Roops turns to him furiously, "You think she comes here to see you?"
"Obviously."
"ENOUGH!" Nakku says irritated.
"Dutta, what has gotten into you? All these days you were fine and now what happened suddenly?"
"Before we had to hide from her. Now we don't, so there is no need for us to compromise or sacrifice." Dutta says shrugging.
"Compromise? Sacrifice? She is my best friend."
"HA!" Roops says.
"And I love him!" Nakku tells Roops.
"Good to hear you say that once in a while." Dutta mutters.
"What do you mean by that?" Nakku asks him furiously.
"Oh please... you keep running off to my sister as if she is more important."
"I AM!" Roops says outraged.
"Oh God! I am not going to be a part of this madness! I am going home."
"I'll drop you. Come." Dutta says.
"Why should you drop her? I'll drop her. I know to take my friend to her house." Roops says pissed.
"You have a car?" Dutta asks her arrogantly.
Roops furiously looks at him then decides, "I am coming with you two!"
Nakku closes her eyes and the first thing that came to her mind was Roops asking her to sit at the back with her while Dutta expected her to sit with him in the front.
"I am taking an auto!" Nakku says and walks off.
At night, Nakku was on the phone with Dutta.
"It was such a mad day." Nakku says chuckling.
"Yeah! Roops was unbelievable... you sure she wants us together?" Dutta asks.
"Roops was unbelievable? And you were not?" Nakku asks. Now that she was out of the mad house, she could actually laugh at what had happened earlier. It was kind of cute too.
"You think I am unbelievable? Come on... Roops should understand that I am more important to you now. That I have more right over you than her."
"Important? Right? You decide th..." Nakku starts and realizing that she was getting a call from Roops she tells Dutta, "I'll call you back, Roops calling."
Then without a word she hangs up, as before she used to always hang up on Dutta if Roops calls in between so Roops doesn't suspect anything.
Dutta furiously looks at his phone.
"She hung up on me? For Roops?" he was about to call Nakku and remembers what she had said and decides to wait for her to call him back.
He very patiently waited for 5 minutes then he got fed up and called her.
"Roops... I'll call you back. Dutta is calling me." Nakku says as she hangs up.
"Dutta..."
"Nakku..." Dutta says happy that she hung up on his sister for him. He just knew, he was more important.
They were talking for 10 minutes when Roops calls again.
"Dutta.. I gotta go.. Roops on the other line." Nakku says and hangs up before Dutta could say anything.
"Yeah Roops."
"You said you'll call back... anyway listen... Bhaaji hasn't called me the whole day... he is still pissed.. should I call him?"
Nakku was giving Roops advice on relationships when Dutta calls her.
Nakku sighs loudly, "I gotta go.. Dutta on the phone."
Half an hour later, Nakku was tired of the brother and sister... now they called back the instant she hung up on them... she wanted to kill them.
"You listening?" Roops asks.
"Yeah... Damn... Dutta calling... I will call you, don't call me." Nakku tells her and hangs up.
Dutta was in his room talking to Nakku when Roops barges in.
"Stop calling her! I am talking to her!"
"I'll call her whenever I want!"
"She is my best friend."
"She is mine!" Dutta says furiously.
"Stop taking my best friend away from me."
"Hello? Dutta.. Roops..." Nakku frantically says from the other end.
"Stop coming in between Nakku and me!"
"I am not coming in between anyone!! She is my friend... and we need to talk about many things."
"Even us!"
Dutta's phone starts ringing. Dutta smirks seeing Nakku calling. "See! Nakku.. she is calling me!"
"Nakku." Dutta picks up with a smile.
"Hold on!" Nakku furiously tells him and he was put on hold. Then they hears Roops phone ringing.
"HA! Nakusha calling." Roops says victoriously.
"Nakusha!"
"Hold on! I am putting you on call conference." Nakku says furiously.
"Okay."
"Dutta you there?"
"Yeah." Dutta says confused.
"Roops you there?"
"Yes." Roops replies equally confused.
"STOP CALLING ME YOU TWO! IF YOU CALL ME THEN I AM GOING TO GIVE SOME ONE SUPARI TO TEACH YOU TWO A LESSON!!!"
