I don't think it was meant to be comedic by any means. Lecherous Anna chasing after Naku-- pehle SR, then shaadi. The cat and mouse chase was both sad and inadvertently hysterical.
As I was watching our Naku, I was dumbfounded (GP's one eyebrow raised). When Subhu tried to stop Anna from grabbing Naku, what does Naku do with the door wide open? She hangs onto the bedpost a few feet away from Anna and Subhu. Clearly, she is no Jerry to Anna's Tom.
Next, when the ever-charming 😡 (mimicing Naku's "Saab bachao") Anna tries to assault her, she runs and tries to hide...yes, I said hide. As in hide-and-seek. 😆 Underneath the bed would have been much better, but who am I to say? And while many women would fight tooth and nail, run around, scratch Anna's eyes out, throw anything and everything (not just a lamp), Naku sits there "hiding" in full view of Anna, shaking.
What made me scratch my head the most --and by this time I was laughing in disbelief --was when Anna threw her on the bed. Naku just lay there for a few seconds, and then, as if sense finally hit her, she started clawing back. I thought Thank God!
I'm sure someone will say she was in shock, trauma, crippled by past memories, but still it was a weird scene. Jeez, CVs, sometimes you make Naku seem so dumb. For example, like the mandir scene when there was a shootout and Naku was just standing there instead of trying to get on the ground. I mean we did get Dutta hold/half hug her, as a result, so I guess it's ok in the end. Naku's a sweet girl, but that does not mean she has to be stupid.😆 😆
