yes i agree a broken heart is not justification enough to turn to contract killing. i guess in datta's situation his world was ripped apart and he wasnt in a situation to think straight. he wanted to make money and fast. baji and aai shld have stopped him...he was in no state to make the right decisions. though i guess with what he was going thru datta would have found a way to do what he wanted with or without baji/aai.
anyways even i wud have preferred it if the killing would have started with revenge for some wrong done to seema. though i guess now it will be left to naku to get him out of the abyss he's fallen into.

I am rethinking about Baji being such a great friend. In today's epi (for those who have seen it, and for those yet to) Baji is the one who leads Dutta to the Supari guy!

Uff....

I didn't know how I felt. I understand, for many, they don't know how to deal with heartbreak, and I think thats what the whole deal was. He is the type of guy who doesn't do well with that type of stuff....I suppose we can't complain, because thats what the story line calls for...but what I will complain about is that I wanted the betrayal to be something TERRIBLE, i mean bad enough that when I saw him shooting ppl down I didn't feel like "OMG Dutta...no...no..."

LoL

This isn't as easy a question to answer, as it might seem. There isn't one right answer to this question - I really don't want to say anything before I see the episode. But just generally speaking - "heart break" is a very broad term. There are different levels of "heart break" and there are different intensities of that said feeling - there is no way to draw a line between what's right and what's wrong when such a diverse set of emotions are at play. Because that's when the rules bend and the distinctions between "right" and "wrong" start to blur - and how far the blur depends on how strong the emotions are. Honestly, there really is no "ONE" answer for this question. But with respect to Dutta, I'm going to answer it once I see the episode. 😃

ok...lets see what we have seen of datta till now of his teenage years...he was a full of life, sweet innocent boy. very happy with his perfect world. he was VERY much in love. his world revolved around his gf. and she cheated on him, betrayed him then rubbed it in his face. she killed his spirit...
what were his options...cry and move on? lots of people would do that...but lots would also want to get back...well we also know that datta is hot headed. he thought he could get back at what she did by becoming rich and QUICKLY...datta went to baji for advice...both were teenagers...given their slumdog background with no connections or education crime must have seemed an easy way out of the muck...and thats what they took.
datta isnt proud of the route he took...he knows he was wrong but...as he says the sound of gunfire drowned out her taunting voice. and i think thats why he did it. the betrayal hit badly....perhaps more badly than most. i expected that it would...whatever feelings datta would have whether love or hate would run deep...deeper than most people who are more used to today's world of having a new love everyday. her betrayal still hurts him...even 10 years after it happened he said that he remembers the whole thing as vividly as if it happened yesterday....even now something can trigger that hurt and pain of betrayal.
i am not saying what he did or is doing is justified...but just that its not totally unexpected from someone like him whose feelings would go deep. ppl have various ways of coping and he coped by killed his feelings.

^^ Thank you! I would have to see the episode to comment, but to me it seems about right. Dutta has always been a man governed by his heart and how he feels than what he thinks. I mean, isn't that the reason he brought Nakku and her family home - because he FELT obliged to them for saving his life. And even now he FEELS like he has a stronger bond with Nakku and this is why he tells her what he does and acts around her the way he does. I mean, if he were to really "think" about his, what reason does he have to converse so intensely with a servant girl? Logically, Dutta makes no sense. Because to understand Dutta you need to "feel" like he does - and not try to find the "thought" process behind it. And just like you said, he obviously still feels the pain/betrayal 10 years later - so obviously this wasn't just a casual "affair". It was more for him - and given the circumstances and the conditions he was brought up in, I am not surprised he chose to do what he did. I am however surprised that even after being hurt this bad, he has the moral compass set straight enough to know what he did was bad. Most people live by the whole "They hurt me once I'm going to hurt the rest of the world twice" attitude. I'm surprised by how he doesn't do so. He's still helpful to the poor and needy - which is obviously why he's respected/loved/feared (whatever the case may be) by so many.
I don't know if what he did was "justified" using logic. But it makes sense to me, knowing Dutta as we do.

Yes Fivr...its his heart that rules him. Thats just Datta as we know him and we have seen him so far. He did what he did because he felt that it was the only way to cope with the pain. I cannot totally blame baji for taking him towards the path ofg crime...if Baji wouldnt have supported him Datta would have walked alone and prolly found the same way given his background. all his hard work and dreams were taunted and made fun of...i dont think datta was in the a state to think abt morality. plus lets not forget he was too young...a teenage...a very difficult age.

Fivr,Shreya I agree with you guys. Dutta feels and reacts more from his heart. Even though shy he still is an intense guy. His love was intense and so is his hatred. I actually was very surprised with the kind of control he showed when she was taunting him. I was thinking becoz of his hot headedness he is going to freak out big time.. but he didnt. He so calmly asked her if she ever loved him inspite of finding out that she has cheated on him. That was just unbelievable. A normal person would freak out..
And then again inspite of knowing the chosen path is wrong he still went ahead becoz of his educational background. He had no other option but to go down the path to make easy bucks to prove her wrong. She completely killed his spirit and he still hasn't recovered from it.

yes...intense...thats the word i was looking for to describe datta. love, hatred or pain...everything would be intense for him. he will give his all to that emotion. for most people the pain would dull with time. but datta has bottled up the pain within himself and channels it out thru his anger when it something sets off the trigger.
btw on the aside im glad he's telling naku everything abt his past. a refreshing change from heroes whose cupborads contain skeletons that tumble out at regular intervals to "shock" the audience. i will say so far naku was infatuated with him becuz she saw only his nice side-the kind and charismatic man. now she is getting to see the real datta. i know she will continue to love him despite the revelations and this love will be true love.

absolutely.. I am very very happy to see Dutta confiding in Naku. And I am hoping that her true identity is revealed to him just the way he did. Just the two of them. I would love to see Dutta getting the first glimpse of her real beauty before the rest of the world. I now want to see Naku confiding in him as well. I will be disappointed if he comes to know from someone else and feels betrayed again.

Vaish...part of your wish has already come true...he has seen her before anyone did though its another matter that he didnt recognize her. btw i am sure when gets to know her secret he will not be amused AT ALL. abt feeling betrayed...I dunno...depends on the circumstances I guess and how deeply he's involved with her by then.
