that scene was really funny...baji's vishesh tippanis cracked me up. he was rite...first they beat up the daughter in law of the house and then the son-in-law. i guess datta must show them a family album along with the photos of all their relatives and friends. otherwise next time ganpat will join the party too.

^^ LOL!!! Forget Ganpat, I want to see Sethji beat someone up! Lol, I miss that kid. He's hillarious too. 😆

yep i miss naku's family too...instead of scenes of the sisters vendatta i wish there were more light family scenes. hopefully once sups is out of datta's life the sisters will let down their guard and we will get some bonding scenes between the characters. otherwise this loving brother os 3 sisters doesnt seem to be around his sisters much though he's always at home.

^^ I know.. I mean if there's supposed to be this much love between the siblings, albeit fake, they should at least be around each other! The sisters stay locked in that one room with their booze and the brother is off punching bags.

I hope we get to see Sethji soon. I'm already getting sick of the evil trio they haven't even been around that long.

even when leela was lying on the bed apparently dying datta stood there royally as if waiting for the doc to leave so that he cud get back to his room and brood. i hope they a bit of datta with his family...we've seen his relationship with aai is very formal. but what abt the jeejas and the niece and nephew? and it wud be nice to have sethji back atleast to give his special views on the situation.

You know, that one scene where Sethji's being convinced to go to school instead of having to work like his dad was a window into how Dutta might handle kids. If you notice, he used reason instead of force with Sethji to convince him that by going to school he'd be "working" harder than his dad. So yeah, I guess as soon as Sethji comes in the picture we might see a newer perspective in the family dynamics of the Patils. So far we haven't seen anything other than the fact that the sisters are (pretending to be) psychotically protective of Dutta and that Dutta and his mom share a very formal but loving relationship. The only person Dutta's come close to being casual around as far as his family goes is Baaji - but he isn't even family so I don't know if that counts. He was very comfortable around Nakku though, especially during the February 16fh episode when they are talking about pain and alcohol.

datta seems to share more a relationship of respect rather than love with aai. thats not the same between naku and babi who have a more real parent-child relationship. i guess datta somewhere feels grateful to aai for bringing him up etc etc.
datta's relationship with baaji alternates between boss-employee, friends and brothers depending on the situation. but in the scene where datta was attacked it was very obvious that the two guys are fiercely loyal and protective each other. baji pushes datta away and shoots the attackers. when baaji gets shot datta's main concern is baji. and even later when he's attacked again in the hospital datta ensures that baaji is safe. but datta is a very private man so even though he's close to baji he's never shown to open up to him.
i too really liked the way he convinced sethji...he cud have just ordered him but he didnt do that...instead he challenged the precocious kid and got what he wanted. thats one thing i like abt datta...though everyone around him keep emphasizing how powerful he is...datta is never shown to use that unabashedly. he always gives the opposite party a chances and hears them out.

Yeah, we've never been introduced to the "underworld don" side of Dutta's personality. The only hint of him being from the underworld was shown during that first scene when he beat up that inspector because he was trying to take over his "maal" and later when he got in that gun fight. But other than that, he could just pass of as a very rich/important person who needs security. We have yet to see him abuse that power - so to speak. And gangsters are usually supposed to be selfish and sociopaths - but our Dutta Bhao is more civil than many "civilized" men.

And his relationship with Baaji is more casual than all his other relationships. With Bhao being as private as he is, it's understandable that he won't bare his heart out to Baaji about everything. But still, I feel that if and when something troubles Bhao he's going to take Baaji into confidence before he tells anyone else. So to me, Dutta and Baaji are alot more close than it's being shown yet - I think the show hasn't gotten the opportunity to truely showcase the depth of their loyalty and relationship yet.

Datta's influence and power so far has been only spoken of. Primarily by Baji and Datta's sisters. In fact its Kala who mentions to her hubby that Datta can very violent if required. But we are yet to see that absolutely violent streak. He did beat up morey but I guess any guy who is decent and sees a woman being harrassed wud have beaten up morey. i think datta was most angry when sups was attacked. but yes apart from him handling guns easily he can easily pass off as a scion of a wealthy and powerful family.
abt going to baji with his problems...i dunno...im not so sure if datta will go to anyone with them. he seems to bottle things up inside himself. he will discuss work with baji...but girlfriend problems...im not so sure...he's not discussed sups with baji. in fact he discourages such discussions.

Well, I don't think Supriya is really a problem. I don't think he's going to talk about girlfriend problem with Baaji either. I was taking about problems with "love" and "family" or something else that might be bothering him. I don't think Dutta feels as strongly for Supriya or the impending marriage to take it seriously. The only reason he even got upset about Supriya being attacked was because it happened in his home - it was the place of attack that angered him more than the person being attacked. Yeah he's trying to work at it but I don't think that Supriya's gotten important enough for him yet to be affected by her presence on a personal level. But once he falls for Nakku, things will be different - that will be a different situation, hopefully a more personal one. And those situations are when I think he might find a confidant in Baaji.
