Not just SPA but every award show will have this question mark now. Unless the channel houses get more transparent this question of rigging is bound to come up. And in the case of SPA its getting too evident with every passing year that its more of Balaji's own awards. The award people talk of Naya Sadasya but it the very old ones who are getting nominated why????? In many of the catagories they could have easily left the old horses and gone for new nominations.

Will add the same line as i said earlier about this awards!!!!! They should make this as their slogan now.

😆😆😆 I am so in agreement when you say the awards are rigged. Man how can people get award for the character they have not played long enough? How is Ganga a devrani if she is not even married to the devar yet? Seems like ekta has influenced these awards and her favs have been included in these awards more than any deserving actor. I personally feel very sad for the people who kept voting tirelessly. They need not do that cuz afterall Ekta gave the awards to whoever she wanted to any ways. Well, words of wisdom: Never spend your money on staged outcome, and always learn from your mistakes 😉

Then i didnt even enjoy the performance....last year Hiten-Gauri-Rakshanda performance was superb, and i still watch those videos and dont get boring...whereas this time, according to my personal opinion, i think the performance between GHT was very weak compared to that. Neither did i like MIchi's performnace....shweta and hiten's one was OK.....but i didnt like the way KT dressed, last year she look way off better in "barso re megha"😳

Many actors were missing....like Shilpa, Reshmi, Joydeep, Akashdeep, etc...

Then the nomiantions were very very gowlk according to me....altogther i will say it was awastage of three hours

I believe the viewers' choice is purely based upon the actor's popularity not the character he/she plays. Critics' choice I think they gave based on performance rather than number of scenes. Mandira (character) was long due deserving the "saut" award. Sauvarna was fabulous in the role she did but I just didn't like how her track was dragged in the show.

Sujata and Sandali, you two shared my exact viewpoints.

I did like Mouni's performance and Jennifer Winget's too. Rano was good but the outfit made her look overweight a bit.

My favorite moments:

The smile on Gauri's face when Hiten was up there receiving his award.

The smile on Hiten's face when Gauri was up there receiving her award.

Gauri blowing kisses to her in-laws.

Their performance was beautiful. The passion in Hiten's eyes makes really believe in love 😳

Akaash is part of Sony TV now and Reshmi is part of 9x now. Rakshanda I think is busy with her management company. Shilpa no clue.

Yes but they haven't been shown on Kyunki for a while...

And what happens is that usually the serial of channel you are shown more prominently in, the actor tends to promote that more, I guess.

Most likely they were shooting for their respective shows.

All I wud say is "2008 SPA" sucked big time apart from very few things like HuTi together, some of the in b/w acts like Robbie-Daksha chachi and a few others; Robbies performance, Smritis words(the bestt) and the farah question-answer session round and wat Hiten said while taking the award, Shweta-Hiten perfomance! I dont remember anything else I thinkk and if there is I must hve mentioned it in my topic cause I had time wen writing there, right now I am rushing 😆 😆 If I do, I ll write later but over-all, it was like you said:-- PHEEKA!!

I hve yet to see Gauris speech and clear confusion of Critics choice and Viewers choice 😕

And I think its a ACTOR-CHARACTER award...lol! Cause if the actor wudnt perform that well, there wud be no character 😊

I dunno if its Ekta rigged...50-50% chances in my POV!! 😃

I forgot to say Ali Asgar's acceptance speech was really good.....God give his dad's soul peace in heaven.....I was actually shocked to hear that his dad died 10 days back......

Regarding authenticity of awards.......Its a goddamn BALAJI EVENTS who organised the awards.....

Why ask for voting in certain categories , if the awards were "Critics" already? I remember voting for Saut and Khalnayak.....how come they were "critics awards" ? It seems no one even bothered to check who was "Critics" and who was "voters" category too😆
