In fact, Rakshanda has already started shooting for the show. "I will be sporting a look which is quite contrary to expectations. The Amba of this show is not similar to that of Ramanand Sagar's Mahabharat. I was pleasantly surprised when I learnt about the look. Manish Malhotra has done a fabulous job with the costumes," she says excitedly. Explaining why she took up the role, Rakshanda says, "There were two reasons. Firstly, I got a chance to work with Ronit Roy again. Ronit plays Bheeshma Pitamah in Mahabharat and I have most of my scenes with him. Secondly, I got a chance to act in a mythological; which doesn't come one's way often. Moreover, Ekta's Mahabharat has been shot in a very contemporary manner." "It's a small but meaty role. I am very happy," Rakshanda adds. Shortly, Rakshanda will be busy with a few events in the US and Bangkok. Mythology says that Amba wanted to marry Bheeshma, who couldn't accept her proposal because he had vowed to remain a bachelor throughout his life. She thus held him responsible for her frustrations and wished to take revenge by killing him. |
