Gauri and Hiten Tejwani are certainly the most lovable pair on Indian Television so far. And if you have any doubts, you can go and check out the number of websites created by their fans for them.

But quite interestingly the duo tells us: "We are poles apart". We wonder as to what keeps them together?

"It's our mind-blowing on and off-screen chemistry. The oppositeness (sic) binds us together," they say. During their visit to the city, the TV couple shared their thoughts with us.

How would you describe your journey from Kutumb to Kyunki...?

Satisfying. I met my man while shooting for my very first tele-soap, what more can one ask for!
Wonderful! My personal as well as professional graph has only shown an upward trend.

Which role is close to your heart – Gauri and Pratham of Kutumb or Nandani or Karan of Kyunki..?

I think it's Gauri and Pratham of Kutumb because it was our first show and also we met each other on the sets of the show.

Was it love at first sight for both of you?

Not at all! One will be totally surprised to know that we were not on talking terms for the first six months. Though Hiten tried his best to start conversation, I ignored this cool looking and over-friendly chap on the sets completely. He was too friendly with everyone on the sets and from the spot boy to the director, everyone loved him.

Yes, in my case it was. I don't know why, but I was too much attracted to this abnormal girl. Yes! You heard it right. She was not at all normal. Firstly, she was a very serious and well-behaved girl. And unlike other girls, she ate her plate-full meal. Being a complete bookworm, Gauri brought her novels on the sets. As soon as we were through with the shot, she went back to her room and started reading her beloved novels. She behaved as if I didn't exist for her.

Then who took the first step?

First step? It just happened automatically. None of us officially proposed to each other. It was slowly that our on-screen chemistry got converted into an off-screen one.

Since you are so different from each other, who has made maximum compromises after marriage?

(Smiles) I think everyone must have guessed it by now. It's Hiten who has compromised the most.
As it happens in most love stories, it is the man who makes maximum compromises.

What's that one craziest thing that you have done as a person in love?

Since I'm a simple and sober girl, all crazy stuff is done by Hiten alone. I just sit back and watch all his foolishness.
Although every day I do something crazy for Gauri, presenting her the engagement ring on the sets of serial Kutumb, without even informing her, is the best one. She was happy, shocked and surprised – all emotions poured in that one moment. Thankfully she didn't say no to me!
