Negative shade fetched me recognition'
The dusky damsel and Miss India Earth - 2002, Resshmi Ghosh, is enjoying the spotlight and learning to be politically correct while interacting with the fourth estate. Better known as 'Bhoomi Virani' who is despised for her arrogance in a television serial, Resshmi tells us that in real life she is totally the opposite - fun loving, down-to-earth and very chirpy. She talks to NT about the grey shades of her character and how things started rolling after she added that extra 's' to her name.
FOR NAGPURIANS:
Resshmi has a message for Nagpurians - "be happy and win the world." She adds, "And you can do that only by smiling. A smile can fetch you a lot of things - right from compliments to anything you may wish for."
SCREEN BRAT:
On television, Resshmi plays the role of a snooty rebel who wears her attitude on her sleeves. Ask her what made her do such a role right in the beginning of her career and she replies, "Initially, things weren't really happening on the career front. My films like Adaa-Will kill you and Benaras 1918-A love story either bombed at the BO or got canned. It was then that Ekta offered me the role. Initially, I was very apprehensive, but the role did wonders for me."
LUCK FACTOR:
She says she can never forget the day when she had just Rs 11 left in her bank and no work in hand. But now it's been almost two years since she added an extra 's' to her name and she feels it has helped.
ENJOYING SUCCESS: Now that her career has finally kicked off, the damsel tells us she's enjoying her fans. She says, "Wherever I go, now people ask for autographs. I am glad my work is finally paying off."
HER USP:
She blithely says that her glowing dusky complexion is her USP. "I am not apologetic about my complexion. In fact, it's a beautiful skin colour. Also, it is necessary to be known for the person you are and not for the colour you have been blessed with," she adds.
LOVE HAPPENING:
The gal has been in love for quite sometime now, but isn't very comfortable divulging details of her beau. However she confesses, "He has been with me through all the ups and downs." Ask her whether she is ready to take the marriage vows and she replies, "It will happen when it is destined to. Also, though I am a good cook, I need to learn a lot about managing home and that's what I am doing at the moment
