Being such a DIEHARD Nandini fan and an even CRAZIER maniac when it comes to the old classic Gone With The Wind (both the book and the movie), it is such a pity that I did not realize it until now. Nevertheless better late than never, Nandini reminds me so much of the Melanie of Gone With The Wind. The phrase that came to mind when I encountered Melanie's character was PRISTINE PURITY. You could not help but fall in love with that angel of a woman. These are the exact same feelings that I experience whenever I see Nandini or should I say whenever I FEEL Nandini. At times one does tend to get annoyed at the perpetual selflessness they portray in the essence of their dispositions (even I did and I am verily ashamed for that) but in the end, one could not call them stupid at all.

Basically both Nandini and Melanie love (whoever they love) with such heartfelt candor that they could never comprehend any bad in the people whom they love. In Melanie's case, because she loved Scarlett and Ashley too much, she never believed the veracity of their faithlessness. Same goes for Nandini, the ethereal quiddity of whose heart, does not empower her to blame the people she loves, despite of all the wrong that they did to her ( I better not take any names as I don't want this to turn into a fight). Those betrayals, which a conventional mind happens to abhor, seem non-existent to these two characters, not because they are oafish or imprudent but because the classical finesse of their demeanors could not conjure something as odious as perfidies from their loved ones, not even when it is the stark truth.

I'm guessing the author of this post is Mehreen, for I've never read English any finer, or rhetorics so impeccable. You write fantastic, and before I comment on your post, I want to specially make a comment on how one falls short of superlatives when he is to describe the way you portray what you feel. I rever the art of writing, I've never come close enough to meet an author, but I feel I'm pretty much there when I think of you.

As for your perspective, Nandini does seem too good to be true. But yes, her character exudes that serene and seraphic quality. Its ethereal, it comes across as unbelievable... but all in all it's beautiful.
Not to mention how well Gauri has pumped in life into the character. The beauty of Nandini's character's credence goes to Gauri Tejwani 😊

Cheers!
