Ekta in love?
Anupam Kapadia is the man she is being linked to
Reena Thapar Kapoor
The name Anupam Kapadia may sound familiar to avid watchers of television czarina Ekta Kapoor's top show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. It was the name of the character played by Aman Verma, who overshadowed the popular Mihir Virani. Incidentally, Anupam Kapadia is also a real-life businessman and a childhood friend of Ekta's, whom she admittedly wants to "grow old with". Nonetheless, she denies she is currently having an affair with him.
Platonic love? So far yes, is the reply. Ekta adds, "He has not yet found his kind of woman and I'm single." The rumours of the link-up began with Kapadia's presence at the Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii bash at Vie Lounge on Thursday.
The two were seen in close company. Eyebrows were raised and questions asked. Ekta finally cleared the air on the mystery man in her life.
The aficionados of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi will find that the name Anupam Kapadia rings a bell. There was once a character by the name, a rich tycoon (played by Aman Verma), on the show. Well, there is a real Anupam Kapadia as well. And he is the man Ekta plans to grow old with her soaps are laden with romance. But this is the first time perhaps that the queen of drama is experiencing the emotions herself.
Apparently, it all started with Kapadia's presence at Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki's 1000th episode bash. "Who is he?" This was the question on everyone's lips. The suave and intelligent Anupam certainly didn't look like an aspiring actor. At the party, the aam junta's curiosity level shot up when the otherwise camera-shy Ekta posed with this mysterious 'lucky man'.
To get a definite answer, we spoke to the woman herself. "Me and Anupam?" Ekta asked quizically. "I've known Anupam forever now. I've grown up with him." That still didn't answer the question. Ekta has always protected her personal life fiercely. "Its strange how these rumours come up. I'm not denying that I share a platonic relationship with Anupam. He is a very good friend of mine. In fact I always tell him that we'll grow old together. You know, he's not yet found his kind of woman as yet and I'm single myself. But that doesn't mean that we're dating."
Nevertheless, here's a little brief on Mr. Kapadia: The man resides in Khar and has been a close friend of the Kapoors for a long time now. He is the proud owner of a successful business in pharmaceuticals. That could be an apt match for her? "No way... I've never thought on those lines ever. But, I'm most certainly willing to meeting the eligible bachelors who seem to have disappeared completely." Childhood sweethearts or great pals, the Ekta -Anupam jodi is a big hit. What say?
