Ram justifies weight gain in Kyunki!

It has been more than a month since Ram Kapoor entered Kyunki. It was said that he would loose weight for the role. But from the looks of it, he has only put on a few kilos, evident from his bulging stomach. And if that wasn't enough, he even justified gaining weight, that too in a dialogue in the serial. He told Tulsi (his wife Juhi's look alike) dekho tum mujhe chod ke chali gayi toh main kitna mota ho gaya!

When asked about it, scriptwriter Mrinal Jha laughingly said, "I have not written that dialogue so I can't say whether it was a deliberate attempt to justify Ram's weight gain."
However Associate Head Vikas was clear in his stance. "It's nothing like that. We gave him that dialogue just to add some fun element to the show."

But this fun element is indirectly expressing the truth that Ram has not managed to loose weight despite his best efforts.

Meanwhile Ram's character of J R Thakural seems to have shades of Shah Rukh Khan from Darr. But Mrinal did not give her consent to the observation. "His character is not inspired by any film. He is eccentric and obsessed. Shah Rukh's character from Darr was very famous and maybe that's why these unnecessary comparisons are being made."
