Unlike other actresses who do not want to be stereotyped after doing negative roles, Resshmi Ghosh is one actress who's game for another negative role. Says Resshmi, who portrays Bhoomi in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi..., "Bhoomi is not a negative character as some people feel. She's just a stubborn girl. You'll find a Bhoomi in every household." And even though Resshmi wouldn't mind playing a positive character, what she really wants to do is play an out and out negative character. Looks like Resshmi is attracted to the darker side.
But having worked only with Ekta Kapoor's production house, doesn't she want to work with others? "At the moment, no I don't want to move out of her camp. After winning Miss India Earth, all the recognition I've got is because of being in Kyunki... Maybe later, I would do something outside but not as of now," she adds.
Recently, the dusky actress took three days off from her busy schedule to walk the ramp for a fashion show in Mauritius. "The show was meant to highlight the issue of saving the earth. There were three of us from India — Amruta Patki, Pooja, Chitgopekar and me — and we all bonded so well. It was great to meet so many models from other places as well," she says. And even though this was the fifth time that Resshmi was visiting Mauritius, it was a lot more fun than all the other times she's been there. "It was winter time and there was such a good variety of food to eat. I loved having the muffins and pancakes there. For those three days, I completely forgot that I'm doing a daily show back home," she says.
Resshmi's says she would have been happy to get a longer break. "I was taking a break after one-and-a-half years, but I have no complaints. I love my work," she signs off.
