Jack Nicholson meets Al Pacino?

Well, that's how Ekta Kapoor says Manish Malhotra has styled Ram Kapoor's goofy character in Kyunkii…

Subhash K Jha

OLD
After his wife Gautami, it's Ram Kapoor's turn join the Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi bandwagon from July 4. Ram and his boss Ekta Kapoor, who were in Turkey for the Kasamh Se shoot, have returned and are raring to go, especially Ram, with his new look.

"We're getting my dear friend Manish Malhotra to design Ram's look," reveals Ekta. "Look at what Manish did with Parvati in Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki. As one of Tusshar's friends in the USA said, from a yawn she's become a jaw-dropper. After Sakshi Tanwar, I felt no one could transform Ram Kapoor like Manish. He plays a cross between Jack Nicholson in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and Al Pacino in The Devil's Advocate. Ram will play an eccentric recluse who lives alone with his cats."

Ekta reveals further details about Ram's new look. She says, "Ram will dress up very differently from how he does in Kasamh Se. The character will wear only green. He's quite a weird character, wacky and flamboyant like Glenn Close in 100 Dalmatians…Very satirical and over-the-top. I'd like to see him as a modern-day Kishore Kumar. He refuses to go for holidays to the Alps. 'If I need to be cold, I just need to switch on my air-conditioner,' is his logic. That's how goofy he is!"

Now apparently other actors at Balaji also want a Manish Malhotra makeover.

Says Ekta, "Manish is too big and busy to take on too much television. He's too busy doing the clothes for biggest stars. He's also starting his own film. But he can never say 'no' to me. I can't ask him more than once or twice a year to dress up someone in my serial."

Ram Kapoor's character will be related to Tulsi's character in a big way. "But I can't reveal how, right now," says Ekta.

NEW
Manish Malhotra sounds equally excited about his new assignment. He says, "Previously, it was a great experience designing Parvati's look in Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki and doing the makeover for the Kaisa Yeh Pyar Hai cast. And now Ekta has once again approached me to design for Ram Kapoor, who is a new addition to Kyunki Saas Bhi…"

He adds, "It was interesting to work on Ram's character as it is quite an unusual one, that of a flamboyant man with a fetish for green, not the regular blacks and blues. He's got a bizarre but stylish sense of fashion as he uses his clothes, studs, chains and other accessories to show off his money. I have styled his overall look, including hair. He's a great actor and can carry it off well. Ekta and I are both excited about Ram's look."

Oh My God. He looks SO WEIRD in that second picture. He looks like some kinda vagabond who fell into VELVET. Yuck.

Lord, I think the other stars at Balaji are better off without "Manish" makeovers.

Looks Like Ekta is on a blooper Role. The show has been running so long that she herself forgetting who was there in the show and who wasn't there in the show. This is not going to increase the TRP's atleast thats what i think because people don't watch Kyunkii for Ram Kapoor but they were Watching it for Smriti so instead of bringing new characters in she should bring Smriti back as soon as possible
