But, the content in these books has been presented very very artistically and unfortunately, art is something that Kyunki lacks now-a-days. And these books, I am sure you can't read till you are of a certain age. My brother is 10 years old and I am sure he won't understand a word out of that book but he surely does understand Kyunki.
Oh,come on! That book is in our public library...and children as young as your brother take it out.And how about HIT movies like Girlfriend and Murder, which were open for anyone and everyone to watch?

See, taking out books is a different thing out of curiosity and understanding them is a different thing. Yes, kids know and talk about sex today but that definitely does not make them understand the intensity of Lolita. No, no, no and I stick to that.
And about Amitabh Bachchan, he is a sweetheart IMO. Boom was a mistake that he admitted to. The role in Nishabd was not bad at all. I admire him for his versatility and his energy at this age. His cameo in JBJ may not have appealed to everyone but the admirers weren't less either. And, for every Boom by Amitji, there is a Black! And his roles may not have been appreciated but his acting never went unnoticed. So, it would be wrong to say that he does okay acting.
A SWEETHEART? Of course, bickering about who paid more income tax with kids LESS THAN HALF his age,is most definatly sweet... 😃

Yes,and by trying to pull a Jack Sparrow, he has not only made a joke of himself - because he can never be Jack - but he has also lost respect in viewer's eyes for trying to compete with youngsters.

You yourself keep defending him...
So if he can be 70 and come in movies-in hopes of revaming his image- why can't Kyunki continue in hopes of revamping it's image?

And BLACK?Pleasee...you should see the SPANISH version,it's soo much better. And the acting is great. Black was really only made for awards, and nothing else!

I think we need to understand humor here and not pinpoint someone like this. I am not related to Mr. Bachchan in anyway and I do not gain anything out of publicizing him. It just so happens he has more admirers than criticizers and I happen to be the majority.

And, I am an Indian and I do not watch Spanish movies. And, since we are on INDIA-Forums, let us please keep it to India. The Spanish version could had been wonderful, I don't doubt you, but I, and almost all other Indians watched Black and appreciated it. And since you said, what more does a production house need other TRPs.. so how does it matter if Black was made for awards? Well, that's your opinion but I think it was an admirable work by SLB, AB and RM.

And about Jack Sparrow, I can care less about him. Let's not bring foreign shiznit here. Again, let's stick to INDIA.

Well anyway, Amitabh Bachchan is in no way connected with Kyunki (thankfully!) and we don't need to go astray talking about him. I gave a simple Mithun Chakraborthy example and you brought up AMITABH BACHCHAN. Jo hua so hua, let's not bring it up again! Please!
And gaining TRPs is not all there is to success. People need to appreciate it. If 10 people watch Kyunki, and 6 people say that it was crappy today, I don't think Balaji has achieved anything worthwhile by that.
You don't think Balaji has achieved anything worthwhile, but maybe it has?At the end of the day, if they get all the viewers they want, why would THEY even want it to endd?

And plus,TRPs is all there is to a production house and channel.Do they really care who LIKES thier show or not? ;)

Well, since we are on I-F, let's talk about it as well. Since we are on KSBKBT forum, can you please go to the history and looks for posts that have admired Kyunki recently? The ratio will be surprising, I am sure!

And yeah, I am sure they don't care about anything else and that is what they portray as well.

Welcome back measha! And, you may not have heard stories about kids being affected by this, but they do, they surely do. We are in countries away from India and may not know the real scenario. I am a true desi 😳 and haven't been out of the country for long and I have seen the effects.

My cousin was 6 when he started watching Kasautii Zindagi Kii (Now, PLEASE don't say we are talking about Kyunki, coz you very well know that they are all parallel shows). Ok, so he was 6, how much understanding would you have at 6? Well KZK matured him though. He saw Komolika (or someone, I am not too sure) stealing money and that brat has the nerve to do the same trick thinking he won't be caught. I think this is indeed shameful and if you don't call this affecting children, I don't know what else?
Boundaries? Why only set boundaries for Kyunki? Why not shows like Sex and the City, which has been running for so long now.

Again, be INDIAN and talk INDIAN.

And, for one of your previous posts, Girlfriend was a hit movie? 😕 Get your facts straight gurl! And, Murder was indeed declared an adult movie. The directors did their bit by telling the adults to not take kids with them. Does Kyunki take that measure in spite of showing adulterated content? I think not.

And 12 year children and have also raped someone.I'll show you proof if you'd like. And why should they draw a line when it comes to fiction. It's pure fiction and they are alowd to do anything with it...and if they showed so much reality, what would be the fun in watching it? Also, people DO get remaried more than one time in reality, hopefully you already knew that! And there are many couples who are not happily married and thats a fact, so there...there is reality for you! How is that being 'too realistic'?

Roohani

P.S. Rutu, will reply to urs tomorrow when I have more time.

Since we are working in teams, let me say something about post to measha by quoting something that I already posted before.
Entertainment business is meant to entertain us and absorb us in the fictional world. Again, I am stating I am no opposer of fiction, but a fan instead. Now, let's take Hum Paanch as an example. How real was that? Not much, I believe. But did we constantly question the fiction in it? No, because it was enjoyable. Maybe, you will say that was a comedy. So, let's take Kora Kagaz or Saans. These soaps were more closer to reality (in spite of having the fiction disclaimer at the start) but even when they showed unreal stuff, people never questioned it because they were immersed in the story and narration. But now Kyunki is at a stage where people are constantly questioning it and this is causing the downfall.
I hope this clears our views on fiction on television.

And, I agree that 12 year olds can rape, and people get married more than once. But, that does not make it okay for them to show it on the television. I have cited a simple real life example about kids getting affected. What message is being conveyed through the rape? That 12 year olds can rape? And, you really don't think the young budding minds of India will get curious about it? I think it portrays really low dignity when you take help from topics like rape and incest to promote your show.

And, I would appreciate it you don't use sarcasm as if you did with the words that I have bolded and italicized.

Thanks,
Rutu

I did not want to bring Mr. B back in this discussion but I couldn't resist myself and thought will clear this misunderstanding about this little tidbit before calling it quits.

Let's quote the man himself here:

"I'm surprised by the report and I've serious doubts about its authenticity. Because my name isn't mentioned anywhere among the top most taxpayers of the entertainment business. This gives the utterly false impression that I make pots of money and don't pay up enough taxes."

Blame the guy for being professional! KIDS half his age? They are all in the industry and it is a profession they have all taken on, which does lead to preofessionalism. The guy is doing brilliant according to his age and you want to put him down because he cleared himself up about earning more than Hrithik Roshan(more than half his age)? Not fair!

And, we were talking about actors so far, so don't drag it to the people by bringing up personal issues like this. (Bickering and all...)

Kids watch and learn bad things?Hun,I'd really like to say that mostly the people who watch this show are women or like teenage girls...And what kind of bad things are they learning exactly from this show?
You got that wrong! It is not always women and girls watching these shows. And what bad things? I think I answered you question in one of my previous posts earlier.

Also,so what if it's unrealistic? It's fiction and with fiction you are alowd to do whatever you want and be as creative
Creative? All I am going to do is - 😆🤣

Even if it can get boring at times,it doesn't matter...because many shows go through such periods where the show is a little boring, but that does not mean that there is not hope for it to get better again!
Asha amar hai!

Simply because the show has been airing for a long time doesn't mean it should end.And compared to many other shows,it hasn't been long time since it has started. There have been soap operas that have continued for more than 20 years even...
No Indian show has lasted 20 years. Let's get back to the brown-land. Please.

They may show those things but they don't show them as a bad thing,do they?
They don't? If you say so...
But there are viewers who don't really understand if it is good thing or a bad thing (Refer to my example before). What do we do about those peeps?

I am back again.😛 Am I spamming, Nimmi?
I just wanted to touch on a few things before I hit the bed. I am really tired. 😒

But anyway,
http://www.mouthshut.com/product-reviews/Kyunki_Saas_Bhi_Kab hi_Bahu_Thi-925007370.html
Since I have not received your feedback on this, I am considering that you (opposing team) went though them. By the way, reading the few reviews on Kutumb and Kanyadaan was fun. You people, of course, had more to read!
And so WHAT if it IS unrealistic? It is fiction,as I explained in my other post to Rutu. They can do w/e they want with it.
Let's not be so selfish for the sake of TRPs (which is all they want anyway, so I guess humanity doesn't play a role in this debate.. Kalyug I tell you 😛)
It's fiction and with fiction you are alowd to do whatever you want and be as creative
Just a minor observation! They are not allowed to go wild, but they choose to do so. Looking at the word creative again in a Kyunki-related debate makes me want to laugh again, but I will be a good girl. 😳
If you can't see anything good happening, how is that predictible?
Considering that you have not questioned it again, I take it that you have understood my point. If not, shoot right back. 😊

That's it for the argument but I had a request for the mods/viewbies. I appreciate it that you extended the debate by 24 hours. The debate has heated up more now but I will be very disappointed if you decide to extend it more. We took this responsibility and if some of them forgot to show up, it is not fault of people who showed up from the beginning IMhumbleO. Just giving you a heads-up. Please don't take it negatively. 😊

Had real fun today (thanks to Roohani!) and hope to see much more in this otherwise-dry forum,
Have Fun you all,
Rutu!

Nope, you are not spamming. 😛😛 Actually, I cant describe to you how ecstatic I felt when I came online this afternoon and found 2 MORE pages, since last night! (Sp. since the debate was stuck with like 2 pages for the first 5 days it was supposed to run ) Woot woot! 😆😆

No, the debate shall not be extended for any more time than it already has. I througly agree with you, that some people have been very irresponsible by signing up and then not even bothering to turn up and even render support to their team. Pathetic, guys. I cant seem to find any other word, but "pathetic".

I would like to applaud those who did turn up for doing such a good job. You guys MADE this debate. Thank you for not letting this entire thing go down the pooper. Thank you. 👏

4 hours left people. You may wanna round up things and give closing statements! Rutu, Roohani??? 😛
