'I have the tendency to put on weight but I don't stop myself from eating.'
I eat boiled eggs, a slice of bread and a glass of milk for breakfast. I basically eat everything and don't limit myself. I have the normal
ghar ka khanna and I prefer eating my dinners early by 9 or 9:30.
I have a tendency to put on weight but I don't stop myself from eating anything because I work out hard enough to maintain my body. I work out everyday so I don't mind. I don't eat excess or oily food. I eat everything made at home.
I used to work out a lot before. I was really hard core with the weight training but now because I'm so busy I've cut it down. I am more into cardio now. I go to the gym in my building and do about 45 minutes of running everyday. Then I swim for about 15 minutes. Swimming is great because it exercises most body parts.
Right now I don't have the time but I would play badminton earlier and cricket every Sunday.
'I would never let my stomach go!'For me, the ideal body is looking fit and being healthy- that's it. Your stomach should not be out. Only then can you say that you are fit! I'm not saying that you have to have bulging biceps or a huge chest but your body had to be proportionate. I just want to look like a fit man who is healthy.
I love my stomach. I wouldn't let go of it for anything in the world. I can deal with my shoulders going down or any other body part not being perfect but my 6 pack is something that I am very proud of. The thing with abs is that you have to concentrate carefully on them to get a 6 pack. If you swim and run you're working on your entire body and taking care of it but for a washboard stomach you have to run and do crunches. I run for my lower abs and I come back and do crunches.
I'm not very happy with my calves. It's damn difficult to exercise them! If Arnold Schwarzenegger said they're the most difficult to work out then you can imagine how tough it must be.
From podgy teenager to TV heartthrobI started working out a long time ago when I was 17 years old. I used to be fat! Though I didn't care then but once I started I began to enjoy it and I continued. When you are fit, whatever you wear looks good on you. People see you wearing just a normal tee shirt and jeans and they'll comment on how great you look. If you are fat then everything you wear goes out of shape. You don't get the right kind of clothes and feel very self conscious. Nowadays everyone wants to be fit. It is a decision made by people to eat right and exercise.
My body has changed drastically since I started working out. From being a fat teenager I had a chiseled body with 6 pack. Then there came a time when I wasn't getting the time to work out and I became fat again. Now I enjoy having an athletic body. I don't pick up weights anymore. I just do a little free hand exercising and running.
Vikas is keeping up with the new blood in the industryThe young guys in the industry today all have great bodies. Today everyone is conscious and taking care of their bodies. I think that Mallika Sherawat has a good body. I saw Kareena Kapoor the other day and she's also gone fitter lately. Even Esha Deol has a great body. Everyone is working out and no one is afraid to show off their body anymore.
