Even as reports of Padmini Kolhapure replacing Smriti Iraani as Tulsi in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi are emerging, there's another twist to this tale.
Padmini will enter Kyunki... but not as Tulsi. That's the latest buzz doing the rounds. Apparently Padmini will play a strong positive character, similar to that of Tulsi. Meanwhile, Smriti will be taking a three-month break from the show. And guess what? She's likely to return with a new look, probably a younger look.
Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi has been on air for more than six years now and there have been many replacements over the years. A significant one was the popular character Mihir Virani, which was first enacted by Amarr Upadhyay.
Amarr quit the show owing to a time leap and film actor Inder Kumar was brought in. Soon he was replaced by Ronit Roy.
After Mihir, now Tulsi's future is generating as much interest, or even more. It all began since the time Smriti got busy with her own production Virrudh. Due to time constraints she was unable to give much time to Kyunki... There were rumours of trouble brewing between her and producer Ekta Kapoor owing to this. Both, Smriti and Ekta, however denied any rift between them.
About a month ago, the hunt for a replacement for Tulsi began. TV actress Gautam Gadgil and Padmini Kolhapure were approached. Even Poonam Dhillon's name came up, but there was no offer made. Soon, Padmini was finalised. While most assumed Padmini was going to replace Smriti, it's only now that this new story is unfolding — that Padmini will step in soon and Smriti will be out... only to return in a few months.
But you never know. There may be another twist soon to this too! Considering the off-screen drama surrounding Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 's casting past few weeks, anything is possible.
