You know what i really hate about the way ekta an cronies portray rape? Is that they never make it, for a lack of a better word, straight-forward. For me rape is a very simple thing: A act of extreme sexual violence upon a unwilling victim. An the key word there is victim. In ekta's serials she just doesn't show a rape track without tagging another issue alongside it.
In kggk Soni's rape when she was married turned into this ridiculous farce when she found out she was pregnant, an everyone was only concerned about the innocence of the child.
Later the blind girl's kushi's rape was turned into a track where the focus was on whether animika would confess her husband was the rapist. Once again kushi 's pain an struggle was put on the backburner.
In kzk, mukti's rape was all about how if a unmarried girl decides to spend a night with one man does that make it right for any other man to have to have the same expectations from her.
An finally nandani's rape in this serial was all about matrionimal rape. An we all know kt's rape is about whether a mentally disabled man should be punished for rape, or not.
Its like everytime a girl is raped in Ekta's serial the victim herself is practically forgotten as sideline issue takes centerstage. Although i admit these are very important issues and they need to be raised but, i guess i just wish (particually with this rape track) that Ekta's serial's would just focus on the real issue here. An that is that a innocent girl has been viciously raped, nothing more an nothing less has happened.
(Sorry if i offended anyone with this post!)
