Tasneem --my most embarrassing moment

M ost of my embarrassing moments happen because I keep forgetting people's names. Somehow, I recognise people by their faces but I'm hopeless at recol- lecting their name when they meet me later. A guest came up to wish me during my wedding reception. I was intro- ducing him to my husband and sud- denly went blank. I forgot his name and just went speechless. Luckily my husband understood my dilemma and introduced himself. Now my husband, Sameer, has got so used to this, so that he understands by my smile and body language. He knows when I've gone blank. He keeps teasing me that I'm lucky to have someone like him to cover my faux pas. Another very embarrassing moment was when I was acting in Kumkum. As part of a promo- tional exercise, I'd gone to Nag- pur for a store opening. A 75-year-old lady came up to me with a chappal in her hand. She used to watch Kumkum. It turned out that she hat- ed Renuka, the character I was playing. She said she had come to beat me up. She was so determined that it was very embarrassing since this happened before a huge crowd.
