Since most of the members have started watching after the leap, I will provide you guys a basic summary of Karan-Nandani storyline.
Karan-Nandani run into each other at the airport.
Nandani is related to Viranis through Sahil's mom, who is her aunt. She has always visited them since she was a child. Everyone loves her.
Karan is brought into Viranis, thanks to Tulsi and Baa. Karan is told the truth of Mandira and it changes his views. He accepts Tulsi as his mother.
In the meantime, there is a search for Tulsi's real son. Before Karan-Nandani are introduced, Ansh is introduced with a minor brush against the hot-headed Karan.
Nandani is doing a report on the bad underworld guy. With courage and guts, she impresses Ansh and he falls for her beauty. Totally lusting after her.
In the meantime, there are playful run-ins between Karan-Nandani, with all members of Viranis noticing. Ganga-Damini realize that behind Karan-Nandani's fights is a sign of love.
Ansh finds out he is Tulsi's son and also finds out that Nandani is a part of Viranis. He pretends to change himself and comes into the family. Nandani is upset to see him (as he's harassed her a lot and Karan knows this as well) but for Tulsi's feelings, Karan manages to make Nandani quiet. Ansh apologizes to Nandani and they become friends. Ansh knows that Karan likes Nandani.
Tanya enters as Karan's business associate. Nandani is jealous as Karan is spending all of his time with Tanya, and thanks to Ansh AND Tanya, misunderstandings grow between Karan-Nandani.
Tanya is a friend of Ansh's who is brought in only to create problems between Karan-Nandani.
When Karan is about to tell Tulsi he wants to marry Nandani as he loves her, Tulsi drops her bomb and says that Ansh wants to marry Nandani and she wants it to happen. Karan decides to sacrifice.
Nandani's family comes, insults Karan's illegitimacy to her. Nandani doesn't care and still wants to marry Karan.
She goes to Karan and tells him to lets elope. But Karan lies to her and tells he he loves Tanya and she is coming in-between them. Nandani accepts this heartbreak. As she is accepting this heartbroken news, her Dada suffers a heart attack and Nandani is forced to say yes to marriage to Ansh.
Damini sees all of this but doesn't say a word to anyone and lets Karan compromise his love.
Nandani agrees but isn't very happy, very much compromising with herself.
Tanya falls in love with Karan as he spends time with her while the rasams for Nandani-Ansh's marriage happen. She realizes her mistake when she sees Karan crying for Nandani.
On the night of Ansh-Nandani's marriage, Ansh reveals his true colors to her. She runs into another room, shaking and afraid.
Then starts Ansh's torture and blackmail of telling her Dada lies about her and Karan. She stands his torture, afraid of the shock killing her grandfather and keeps quiet about it. But Karan notices Nandani isn't happy at all, he tries to talk to her, but she brushes him off.
Meanwhile Viranis decide that Karan-Tanya should get married. Tanya is happy with this news but Karan tells her he loves Nandani only and cannot marry her. Nandani overhears their conversation.
Nandani confronts Karan and she accuses him of ruining her life. Ansh sees them together and mistakes that they are having an affair.
Ansh decides that Karan will get kicked out of the house. He sets up certain circumstances where Tulsi sees Karan-Nandani in a hotel room together. Tulsi kicks Karan out and tells Nandani she's making a mistake by leaving Ansh for Karan.
Nandani feels bad and tells Karan that she wants a divorce. He supports her. He also finds himself back in SN as Mihir's father passes away and leaves ALL property and business in Karan's name. Mihir and Sahil support Karan while Tulsi and Gautam blindly believes Ansh's stories of Karan killing Mihir's grandfather to inherit all the wealth.
Ansh's lawyer tells him the only way to not get a divorce from Nandani is to consummate the marriage. In the meantime, Shobha's first husband Vishal gets into serious trouble thanks to his partnership with Abhisheck (who is a friend of Ansh's) and Vishal has to go to Swiss. Vishal confides to Karan about his problems.
Ansh tells Nandani to come with him to Swiss. Nandani is reluctant but Karan forces her to go and give Ansh another chance. Nandani agrees.
In Swiss, she is miserable and is staying in a separate room.
Because of Vishal, Karan lands up in Swiss. Nandani is happy to see him. They hug and Ansh sees them. Ansh calls Tulsi and asks her to come, who brings along Shobha.
Ansh asks Nandani if she was in a hotel room with Karan. Nandani says yes and during an argument, she confesses she hates him and loves Ansh. In anger, Ansh goes to her room and rapes her.
Tulsi comes to the hotel and is outside the hotel room of Nandani's, and hears Nandani screaming at Ansh, telling him to let her go.
Ansh comes out of the hotel room to see Tulsi standing there.
Tulsi walks inside to see Nandani's condition. She puts a shawl around Nandani and Nandani is a statue.
Outside Tulsi confronts Ansh. Ansh reveals his true colors to Tulsi and raises his hand to hit her but Karan stops him. Karan has overheard and is in shock that Ansh raped Nandani.
Ansh leaves the hotel, afraid.
Karan comes to Nandani. He is crying at seeing her statue condition. He hugs her and he forces her to cry.
Tulsi sees this and is moved, also crying as she remembers her own faults and apologizes to Karan for misunderstanding him. Karan forgives her.
Karan comforts Nandani constantly during the trip and Tulsi decides that she will bring Karan-Nandani together.
Vishal is killed by Ansh's men.
