| MAIN MADHURI DIXIT BANNA CHAHTI HOON: Chinki Jaiswal | Acting comes naturally to this cheery-faced tot and at the recent Star Parivaar Awards, she got recognised for just this. Four-year-old Chinki Jaiswal won the Best Child Artist award on May 29 for her performance in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.
She's already working on commercials and TV as well as the big screen projects, and says, "I was so happy to get the award and more happy because the Kyunki... cast pampered and congratulated me."
Chinki plays the character of Bhoomi in Kyunki... and has done ads for Colgate, Savlon, Scotch Brite and print ads like Surf Excel, Aby Baby, etc.
Chinki says she enjoys working with the cast of Kyunki. "I love Tulsi aunty (Smriti Irani), Karan (Hiten Tejwani), my father in the soap, and Tanya (Rakhshanda Khan), who plays my stepmother.
Tulsi aunty always gives me cakes and Karan and Tanya love me a lot," she explains.
But while she may act in a Hindi soap, when it comes to what she really likes, it's horror movies.
"I love watching AXN and HBO. I also love Tom and Jerry and Takeshi's Castle on Pogo," she says.
Working in the glamour industry has not taken away Chinki's interest in school. "I can't do without school even for a day. But more than studies, I like playing with my friends," confesses this student of Poddar High School in Santa Cruz.
"My teachers think I am naughty as I am always up to some mischief," she adds gleefully.
Coping with shoots and studies has not yet become a challenge for her. "She does not have much to study and I manage to complete her course well before her exams," explains her mother Anju.
Anju is convinced that her daughter will be successful because of her acting skills.
"She has an inherent talent and her beauty and charm add to it, which I want the world to see," she says.
"She has a sharp memory and remembers the dialogues in one go," adds the ambitious mother who reveals that Chinki will soon be seen on the big screen in Tumhare Liye with Arbaaz Khan and Hrishitaa Bhatt.
And does Chinki want to be an actress? "I love clothes and shoes and I have my own make-up kit. I want to become an actress when I grow up as they do all of that," she says.
As for her favourite stars, "I love Rohit (Hrithik Roshan in Koi Mil Gaya) and Neha Dhupia," she says. |
