Manthan's big fat Punjabi wedding
Amit Tandon aka Manthan will tie the knot with his girlfriend in the US. He promises a lavish wedding ceremony

Amit Tandon alias Manthan Virani of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is on cloud nine. He is all set to get married to his girlfriend Ruby Dhaliwal in the US, in January 2007.
Amit got engaged to his girlfriend Ruby last month. "Ruby and I formally got engaged in London last month. The ceremony was attended by a few family members," informs Amit. The singer-turned-actor has been dating Ruby for that past one year. "We knew that we were right for each other and instead of wasting time we decided to formalise our relationship. I value my relationship with Ruby and that's why I decided not to wait."
The engagement was a small affair. But Amit wants his shaadi to be a lavish do. "But I 'm not sure if it's going to work out, as planned. The wedding will take place in January 2007 in the US. My parents live there. It will be typical Punjabi wedding with lots of ceremonies. But I don't think my friends from the industry will be able to make it. These days, it's really a problem getting a US visa." So, Amit has decided to host another reception for his colleagues in Mumbai. "I'm looking forward to the D-day," he says.
The former Indian Idol contestant is also set to launch his first ever music album. "It's been almost two years since I participated in the Indian Idol contest. The desire to cut an album was always there, but my acting assignments kept me busy," says Amit. Now he wants to establish his career as a singer.
Amit is also all set to sign up with a music channel as a VJ. "I'll talk about it only after I've signed the contract," he says.
