Siliguri, Sept. 20: This Pujas Siliguri is all set to sway to the tunes of its first very own Hindi music album. The promos of Halka Sa Nasha, a collection of eight romantic songs by Diana Rasaily who is making her debut, can already be seen on local cable channels. However, it will be officially released on September 23 by television actor Mouni Roy of Saans Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi fame (the girl from Cooch Behar plays the role of Krishna Tulsi). Diana's husband Claudius Rasaily, who doubled as the music composer and project manager for the collection, said the album would be marketed nationally, "to showcase the region's beauty and local talent". The husband-wife duo has come up with their own company (Roger's Music) for the project. Claudius added that the album is now being promoted by local cable channels and Calcutta-based Manthan music channel. A number of musicians from Siliguri have performed for the album, said Claudius. While Binam Singh, Vaskar, Kaushik Paul and Claudius composed the music (described by Claudius as melodious and influenced by local folk tunes), Nabita Shankar and Awadesh Shukla wrote the lyrics. And what better vehicle than the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway to take the album to the masses? The video of the number, Sun Hawayein, was shot extensively on the toy train by Rajesh Ghatraj. Deolo, near Kalimpong, and Darjeeling are the other places where the album was shot. |
