Pulkit Samrat
His entry sequence as Lakshya in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, to the title track of Subhash Ghai's Kisna, created quite a rage. However, not many know that Pulkit Samrat has taken to the 'Kisna' tag quite literally.

Apparently, the actor has been playing the role of Lord Krishna right from his childhood days. Apart from being the crowd favourite to play the part every Janmashtami, Pulkit is also a trained Kathak dancer.

Popular choice

When asked about the crazy coincidence of his association with the character of Lord Krishna, Pulkit says, "I've been blessed to play Krishna in various stages in my life. During my childhood days, I was always dressed up as Krishna during Janmashtami. I remember waiting for that time of the year to come."

Playing the Lord
Pulkit's role-play didn't exactly go well with some of his other friends, since he was the only guy who would be chosen each year. "To be honest, I know there were some boys who didn't quite take to the fact that I got to be Lord Krishna each year.

I think it had something to do with the fact that I was surrounded by girls all the time!"

Dance in his blood

In fact, he doesn't think it's a coincidence that he was given the Kisna track for his entry in Kyunki. "I'm sure there must be some cosmic connection to this beautiful coincidence. It feels like I am blessed by the Lord himself."

Talking about his interest in Kathak, Pulkit says, "I was the only boy in school who enrolled for Kathak. I pursued it till my seventh standard. Even though it's been years since I have revisited the dance form, I know that
it has helped me with my acting. There are many expressions and nuances in Kathak that have indirectly helped me do my scenes better."
Pulkit recently made a trip back home to Delhi. "It's always fun to go back home, spend time with my parents and get pampered."

So did he meet any fans in his hometown? "Yes, I did. In fact, I have my own website now, www.pulkitsamrat.com, where any one can write to
me or chat. I think it's very important to be in touch with your fans and appreciate the feedback they give you."
