Hey gmbhawna,

First of all, no need to use all CAPS as it represents shouting on the internet lingo and some consider this offensive.

Second, once you lose your dignity, it's really hard getting it back. She was humiliated infront of her very children who watched her being insulted, silently. Why should she return for those cowards? What's the garuntee that Mihir will not humiliate her again infront of those children, who will watch it quietly? What did Karan, Gautam or Harsh do when Mihir threw her out of the house? NOTHING! She never said she does what Mihir tells her. She mainly pointed out that Mihir has been taking descions for her which is quite different from doing what he says.

Thirdly, like all protagonists, Tulsi is torn between the love of her children and her dignity. This time, she choses dignity over her children. Why? Because she is insecure about her position in the family. She doesn't want to be thrown out again, if anything happens. Mihir trusts everyone except her easily. Why? That he should ask himself.

In conclusion, Tulsi is not egoistic at all! I do not deny that she has refused to come back for the sake of Baa or her children but she doesn't want to be insulted again.

Regards,

Anu

Well thanks Anu for teaching me internet lingo coz i'm really not aware of it secondly thanks for telling me abt womens respect & dignity.
I don't want to say anyth abt this character anymore coz i don't believe in this character & completing what u asked me be4 if my husband threw me out of the house what will be my answer .........then plz i will not go to haridwar to live a pitiful & secluded life, infact i will fight for my right & for my family(my children r my family not my husbands) and it will be more easy if ur children loves u & believes in u. Forget that person & live happily with my family.
Thats the reality, and if u believe in fiction & thinks living pathetic life like "tulsi" (lighting oil lamps in this century in mumbai)is full of dignity & self respect thats ur notion Probably writing long mails abt ur notion directly to the person can also be offensive.
This is open forum ur free to say anyth but not directly to the person.
Sorry for hurting ur feelings
with regards,
gmbhawna

Does tulsi have ego...yes and no....it is hard to seperate that very thin line between dignity and ego.Besides what is wrong with having a little ego...given tulsi's position in past(she was almost a martriach in the family) and her contributions to the family (which were innumerable), she was almost invincible. however her power came from mihir's trust, her family's love and her faith in goodness. stripped out of virani money, mihir's love , her good deeds blackened with lies and her kids/family doubting her...she lost face. there is a scene where she ponders what she got after years of giving love to viranis...she was foolish enough not to even transfer a small ammount of assets to herself in case of bad times.
also given history ...it has not taken much to turn mihir against tulsi(i wonder what sort of love they shared).
under all the circumstances tulsi's return is undignified and makes it seem as if she has no identity without her family and thier resources.
as for fighting back...imagine a homely penniless woman shocked by her husbands accusation...blamed for a murder...thrown out of the house...her dignity trampled...her kids doubting her....and her evil opponent winning. what does she fight mighty viranis with, how does she clear herself of blame which is partially true.when she returns back she sees mihir in an embrace with meera and assumes everyone has moved on. i am sure she was so disgusted that fighting was least of her concerns...also fighting for what...she can never return or forgive them so well...it has taken ganga (who was involved in business and was young and smart) 20 years get at that level.
as for her kids...i find it surprising that none of the kids offered to leave shanti niketan and stay with her. if they loved her so much...where was there love 20 yrs back, where was there love when mihir insisted on fighting case against kt and where was thier love when mihir decided to marry meerea .infact except for karan, shobha and lakshya none of her kids(gautam, harsh) or family(bawri, sahil....etc) seems to be interested in her return. infact tripti , karan's kids, mohini do not want her back.

Hey gmbhawna,

I disagree with you.

Consider this: You were Tulsi. Your husband threw you out of the house, accused youof killing his motherand after 20 years, wants you back in his life. Would you just go back? Excuse all the humiliation he has given you? Forgive all what he has done to you?

Most probably, your answer is No. Then how can you expect Tulsi to go back into Mihir's life, just like that? She is not a tissue that when needed, one can use, and when not needed, throw away. She is a human who has feeling, self-eestem and ego. In my opinion, she has done the right thing! A 'sorry' cannot excuse what Mihir has done to Tulsi. The things he has done to Tulsi cannot be excused so early. If Tulsi returns back, it will mean that she has no self-respect, which she does. So it's better for her not to return than to redeem her self-eestem.

Anu

😆 That's exaclty what I think,Anu! 😉
