Television's new samrat
It has not been very long since his foray into the world of glam and glitz, but one would never believe this considering the huge fan following he has already secured. Twenty-two year old Pulkit Samrat, a resident of Kandivali Thakur Village is popular especially among his female fans as Lakshya or Kisna Virani of Kyun Ki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, which recently leaped another generation.

His stepping-stone like several others has also been with modelling. He has worked with brands like Asian Paints and Ad Gel pens. He then progressed to television. Surprisingly though, his first television show was not Kyun Ki, instead it was Manish Goswami's Sixer, which was to be aired on Star One. However, the shooting was stalled after shooting for four episodes. It was during this time he auditioned for Kyun Ki and got selected.
The finesse with which he executes his shots could lead you to believe that he is a natural actor. But the truth is that he dedicates a lot of time and effort into perfecting his act. "I believe that ever professional, be it an actor or otherwise requires to practice. I perform riyaas every morning. I have also obtained professional training. As soon as I came from Delhi two years back, I enrolled for acting classes, theatre workshops and voice training courses. Training helps to improve on your weaknesses and accentuate your strengths," he divulges.
This youngster definitely proves exemplary for his peers. Since childhood, he knew he wanted to be an actor. But he was determined that he would pursue this ambition only after he completes his education, "I have completed my education from Delhi. During my twelfth, I opted for a combination of medicine with maths. After this I took a short break to prepare for the I.I.T Entrance. At this time, I also came across an advertising course that interested me, so I opted for B.M.M from APJ Institute of Design in Delhi. I am pursuing an English Honours through a correspondence course."
After completing his education, he then signed up with Elite Modelling Agency to transform his dream into reality. "I shifted to Mumbai and set my career rolling," shares this Delhiite, who clearly misses his hometown.
His character seems to have gained over-night popularity among the masses, with him being courted to be the 'Mihir Virani' of the next generation. "Lakshya is a sensitive child, who is the apple of everyone's eye. He is a thinker, a charmer and an observer. He loves to resort to peaceful methods to seek justice. But will also raise his voice if the need arises. Lakshya is exactly like me," he avers.
He has been a resident of Kandivali for two years and has evidently loved it there. "This is my family flat, so when I decided to shift, this was my obvious choice. I am so glad I decided to stay here. It is so tranquil and serene. I find that Kandivali offers better homes in limited budgets, unlike other parts of this city. My neighbourhood is convivial, and commuting from here is very convenient. I do miss Delhi and run back every chance I get, but Mumbai has become like a habit too," he reveals.
