Resshmi Ghosh, who bagged the title of Miss India Earth in 2002, has made her television debut with Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. She plays Bhumi Virani, the pampered daughter of Tanya and Karan Virani in the shows 20-year-leap. Resshmi gushes, "Im lucky to get a role in this serial because Balaji is one of the best production houses."
Talking about her role in Kyunki..., Resshmi says, "At first I was not very confident about the character. But after I spoke to the creative head I understood its profundity. So I grabbed the opportunity." She adds, "Its going to give a push to my stagnant career. I have taken a wise decision." Though she had great fun with all her co-actors, Resshmi cites the new entrant Moni Roy (Krishna Tulsi) and actor Amit Tandon as her favourites.
After winning the beauty title, Resshmi did sign a few films which never got released. Explaining her transition from films to the small-screen she says, "Most films demand skin show which is not my cup of tea. I dont mind portraying a modern role but I cant stand skimpy outfits. Television on the other hand is not demanding in such matters."
Back home in Kolkata, Resshmi has done theatre, tele-films, documentaries and modeling. But she knew that her dreams lay in Mumbai, "Im looking for fame and Mumbai is where I can get it. When it comes to professionalism, Mumbai rocks!" she exclaims. Resshmi also loves doing commercials, "Its easy money and fun too!"
So where does she see herself five years from now? "I see myself as a woman who is successful both in her personal and professional life," she answers promptly.
