Another Bhiku Mhatre?
Hiten Tejwani will essay a similar character in Manish Jha's film Anwar

It cannot be denied that the temptation to star on the silver screen is ever present for televison actors. The latest to join the bandwagon is Hiten Tejwani (Karan Virani of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi). He will be seen in Manish Jha's latest venture Anwar. "I was offered the film a while ago. Since, I'm shooting for daily shows, to organise dates for a film was quite a task," says Hiten.
However, Anwar isn't the first film in his kitty. The actor made his debut in Krishna Cottage and even did a cameo in Subhash Ghai's Joggers Park. "I loved Manish's Matrabhoomi and when I heard the script of Anwar, I knew I had a substantial role to play in it. My character is similar to that of Bhiku Mhatre in Satya. I'm open to the idea of doing more of such roles," he says. "I don't want to aimlessly run around trees. I want to do more films but it has to be a substantial role and with a respectable banner."
Anwar will be screened at the Locarno film festival in October. "I have great expectations from it. Not only because it will open other avenues for me but it will also give me a chance to display my talent," says Hiten.
