April 29, 2005

Sanjit Bedi does
The Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi clan has yet another additional member.

Sanjit Bedi (Dr Omi of Sanjivani — A Medical Boon and the fun-loving Aryan of Saathiya — Pyaar Ka Nayaa Ehsaas) enters this Star Plus daily next week. He plays the character of Anish Khanna who will be shown getting hitched to Tania (Rakshanda Khan).

Presently, this Balaji show has Tania caught in a triangular love story with Karan (Hiten Tejwani) because of Nandini (Gauri Pradhan).

The track will have Nandini forcing Anish to get close to Tania. Karan had married Tania after Nandini slipped into a coma.

But with Nandini springing back to life (in true Balaji style), she tries to get her good friend Tania hooked —unaware of the fact that Tania had married Karan during her coma.

Bedi, who began shooting for the drama three days ago, says, "This is the first time I am doing a Balaji show." Both the serials in which the actor featured earlier, Sanjivani and Saathiya, were produced by Cinevistaas.

"There had been offers in the past from them but things did not work out due to date issues."

At present, Bedi will feature in about seven episodes of the daily. "It's a nice, sweet cameo," he says.

The actor describes his Kyunki character as a cool dude. "Anish is a classy guy. There is a bit of Sanjivani's Dr Omi in him."

On the big screen, Bedi will feature in Pooja Bhatt's Holiday, which also stars Dino Morea.

"We will be shooting in Goa on a start-to-finish schedule from mid May,'' informs Bedi, who will also be seen in Amar Butala's Kudiyon Ka Hai Zamaana starring Rekha and Mahima Chaudhary. Earlier, Bedi had starred in Mahesh Dattani's film Mango Souffle.
