Ekta Kapoor
After Madhur Bhandarkar, it's now soap queen Ekta Kapoor's turn to put Page 3 on the telly.

The serial will be called either Crossroads or Karol Bagh Farms, informs Kapoor, and will air on MTV from June 7 (also Kapoor's birthday) at 8 pm.

"It will have all the masala and murkiness of Page 3 people. The serial will be an upmarket one, no saas-bahu sagas for this one. It will be racy, pacy and full of masala.

Based on Delhi society and socialites, the serial will have all kinds of characters and ingredients that go into the making of Page 3 people — a fading superstar, a business family, an adopted son, a political family, gay and rave parties and all sorts of current issues," promises Kapoor.

Adds Kapoor, "It will be completely different from my other soaps, and will have everything that a Shobhaa De novel has. We are planning to launch the serial with a really wild Bacardi blast party. It will be like a televised Beverly Hills kind of a serial."

As far as the cast is concerned, Kapoor says Ananya from Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi will be playing one of the lead roles. "The rest of the cast will be new and mostly people from theatre," she says.

The buzz is that Sony Indian Idol winner, Abhijeet Sawant, will appear in a cameo role in the show. Crossroads/ Karol Bagh Farms will replace Balaji's other soap, Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi, that winds up in May.
