Serial producers get legal notices

A local court has issued notices to producer and director of the popular serial Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi Ekta Kapoor, Balaji Telefilms and Star Plus, directing them to appear before the court on May 25 in connection with some controversial episodes.

Additional Magistrate First Class Pankaj Kumar Upadhyaya on Thursday issued the notices on a petition filed by a local advocate, Ratan Aggarwal,

alleging that a character played by Mira Singhania in the popular soap has downgraded the reputation of legal professionals.

The petition urged the court to ask the respondents to appear before the court with copies of the concerned episodes
