Speculations about Akashdeep Sehgal coming back in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi has been doing the rounds for a while now. Now when the soap takes a 20-year leap on June 7, the actor who is best known for his portrayal of Ansh Gujral, will be back in the running. He will play his own (Ansh's) son. However unlike his father, the character of Eklavya will be a positive one.
An evidently excited Sehgal confirms the news and says: "Ekta had mentioned to me in passing once that she will bring me back. I realised what she meant when I saw this character of Eklavya on screen."
However he doesn't know much about the way his character will shape up. "Ekta and her creative team have planned everything and I'll know more only when I meet them. My look, among other things, need to be finalised," he says.
Will Eklavya be able to take off from where the very popular Ansh Gujral left off? "Ekta had once promised me that Ansh will rock… and he did. She is sketching Eklavya's character too. And I trust her completely."
Meanwhile Sehgal has also completed about 50 per cent work on his first film, Lotus Dreams. He says: "It is an educational film and it's for a cause. I have worked on practically all the aspects of the film… from scripting to directing to music and choreography. I hope the efforts pay off because my production company has pumped money into it. I was supposed to cast Smriti Irani in it but I'd rather give her something substantial."
What about acting on the a silver screen? "Well, I have been offered roles but I do not want to do cameos. I have always been choosy about my work. I don't want to damage my image on which I have worked for over two years now," he says.
