Ekta Kapoor is in the hot seat again. This time for resorting to mercy killing to leap on to yet another generation in her serial Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. At a time when euthanasia is a crime under the Indian Penal Code and amounts to culpable homicide under Section 304 of the IPC or murder under Section 299, Balaji Telefilms has yet again trivalised a serious issue. The banner has on so many occasions in the past on pretext of raising moral debates made a mockery of social evils like marital rape. It is distressing enough when thrillers depict villains invading operation theatres and killing patients wearing surgeon masks. But for a family drama to have no regard for the medical world is blasphemous. How can any individual who is not even the blood relative of the patient take such a crucial decision without the approval or consultation of other family members? What is further appalling is that despite so many follies, Tulsi is leading the votes for contender as the Best Saas at the forthcoming STAR Parivar Awards. If she wins and I think she will, it is an alarming reflection on our viewers.

Here i think we are judging the actor Smriti , rather than the character Tulsi. Its about what justice she does to the role...how well she acts, and not about what the current storyline is showing.

No offence meant to any1.
