What is your take on generation leaps?

As most of us know, Kyunki...Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.. was the first ever show in the history of Indian Teleivision to take a generation leap. So , what is a generation leap?A generation leap is said to have taken place when the respective show moves forward by 20 years. This introduces lots of new characters and tracks. Basically, it is a way to keep the show running by adding new people in order to keep the viewers intrested. This week we will talk about what we think of generation leaps. Here are a few questions u can keep in mind which will help you form an

***What is your take on generation leaps?

**Do you think that having generation leaps is a good idea? Why or why not?

**Do you think Ekta was pushing her luck when she conducted such a drastic experiment on her highest ranked show? Do you think that it was a bold step for her to try something which was never tried before?

**Thanks to the leaps, many actors have to play double their actual ages, and they often feel uncomfortable Doing so , and leave. Amar Upadyay, The first Mihir was one of those ppl. What is your comment on this?

Please note, that now the "discussion of the week" will be made a regular feature. We would love your feedback on this. In the coming weeks, we will talk about characters, the actors behind those characters, love triangles , and many other things which were , are , and prehaps will be a part of Kyunki in the time to come. If you have any suggestion for topics which can be made weekly discussions, please PM me about it. I would love to hear what you want to discuss. IT can be your favourite actor, character, or one of the plots of Kyunki.

ENJOY!

I will post my views soon.

***What is your take on generation leaps?
um, i think a generation leap is okay, its okay too have it sometimes too make ur story better

**Do you think that having generation leaps is a good idea? Why or why not?
I can't really decide if its a good thing or a bad thing.. It could be a good thing because, it makes your story more interesting and makes it run on longer, probably will get you more viewers as u go along, but the downside that i find to a generation leap is how some characters end up leaving, like Baa they're gonna have to kill her off the show, which i don't want happening, some of the actors/actresses may leave not wanting to play such a character and i really don't like replacing old characters with new characters nor do i like new characters entering the show.

**Do you think Ekta was pushing her luck when she conducted such a drastic experiment on her highest ranked show? Do you think that it was a bold step for her to try something which was never tried before?
It was a bold step to take, cuz she didn't know if it would work out or not, and if it didn't work out then she would've been screwed cuz she could'n't go back 20 years, so its cool how she took the chance and did what she did, for her highest ranked show, and the leap was a huge success so i am guessing that shes hoping for the same thing to happen agian

**Thanks to the leaps, many actors have to play double their actual ages, and they often feel uncomfortable Doing so , and leave. Amar Upadyay, The first Mihir was one of those ppl. What is your comment on this?
I really don't like Amar Upadyay so i am glad he left and Ronit replaced him, but this upcoming leap is gunna be like really weird.. cuz ppl like damini/ganga/shobha/tanya/nandani are gunna end up playing like 40 year old woman when they look soooooo young.. Tulsi is gunna end up like 75 or something and i dunno how Ekta's gunna make that happen.. so its gunna be kinda odd..

Btw Eisha good discussion questions😊

***What is your take on generation leaps?
Well, I think that generation leaps are sometimes very important, because the story line gets to boring and having generation leap gives us a new story line for us to watch. Thats why I really like generation leaps.

**Do you think that having generation leaps is a good idea? Why or why not?
I think that having generation leaps can be a very good idea many times because it provides a fresh and new stories, and also I think that it can be a bad thing sometimes because often the old stories get left unfinished. However, I really like generation leaps because it's almost like watching a new drama with the characters that we are used to

**Do you think Ekta was pushing her luck when she conducted such a drastic experiment on her highest ranked show? Do you think that it was a bold step for her to try something which was never tried before?
Yeah, I think that ekta was defenitly trying to push her luck to the max when she took such a drastic step. However I think that she made a very smart move, because it proved to be very sucessful, and i think that this time it will also be a very big success. I mean don't we all want to see what bhoomi or the other kids are like when they grow up?

**Thanks to the leaps, many actors have to play double their actual ages, and they often feel uncomfortable Doing so , and leave. Amar Upadyay, The first Mihir was one of those ppl. What is your comment on this?

Well, lets look at it this way, that it gives other actors a chance to be part of this very successful show. and isn't a truly good actor supposed to play any role without being unconfortable. But i see what you mean, and it's going suck if any of the actors that we love leave because they feel uncomfotable playing a older role. It's going to weird to see everyone so old, but then again it's going to be a whole new adventure.

hey, i think that this was a great topic. 👏 👏 👏 I couldn't resist but to post my views. I am just getting involved in IF, as you can tell from the number of posts that I have posted. so looking forward to chatting and getting to know you guys. 😊

What is your take on generation leaps?

i think there ok, there fun at first cuase theres all new characters but then the same old storylines keep repeating

Do you think that having generation leaps is a good idea? Why or why not?

it can be but each characters needs to look there age, like on kyunki mihir and tulsi and savita don't look there age, so its kind of weird.

**Do you think Ekta was pushing her luck when she conducted such a drastic experiment on her highest ranked show? Do you think that it was a bold step for her to try something which was never tried before?

yeah that was kind of a risk, i had never seen that sort of thing done before, i'm not sure if it was a bold step, more likely she had run out of ideas and thought she'd skip ahead a few years and repeat the same old stories 😆

**Thanks to the leaps, many actors have to play double their actual ages, and they often feel uncomfortable Doing so , and leave. Amar Upadyay, The first Mihir was one of those ppl. What is your comment on this?

i don't think they should feel akward, i mean a roles a role right? and if they don't like it and leave they may not find the same amount of success else where like with Amar Upadyay.

Generation leaps are actually good. It gives ample scope for the creative heads to introduce newness into the serial. If generation leaps are used only to introduce new characters into the serial with the story line remaining the same, then it beats the purpose.

Mihir and Hemanth did their Masters in Management and his sons do the same. The Business seems to remain the same more or less. Their lives are very similar.

With every new generation there should be a new wave of thought, diversification in life…..I hope the third generation of Viranis are notsimply going to grow up, get married and have kids so that the story can move to leap 4 ??

I don't think there should be a problem with actors playing twice their age. After all that's what acting is all about. But they need to act their age, dress their age and be involved in potraying the character to their full capacity. They cant continue to do what they did and have grown up children and grandchildren at that

WEll, sure they make the show stretch, but im not really in favour of them, one generation leap in enough, 2 generation leaps would b a big NO-NO.

**Do you think that having generation leaps is a good idea? Why or why not?

I think its not really a good idea since i really cant my favourite actors growing old. However, i think it is wrong of actors to b choosey abt gen. leap thingis, i think the ppl who do tht are just insecure😕

**Do you think Ekta was pushing her luck when she conducted such a drastic experiment on her highest ranked show? Do you think that it was a bold step for her to try something which was never tried before?

Yes, she was. But shes Ekta, she has gotten away with anything n everything😛

I think it was unproffessional of him to do so really, ppl hav loved him as Mihir, n he just left the character coz of which he got so much of love just cuz he didnt want to play an old man!....
